Tom Brady-If Matt Cassel can go 11-5 with that offense, what can Brady do? O yeah, 16-0. He is an absolute machine in the pocket and looks like he is playing video games on easy. The injury could make him a little shaky in the pocket but he should still be the best quarterback in the league.

2. Drew Brees-The Saints have the most dangerous offense in the league, especially with a healthy Bush. Drew Brees has many weapons and will once again use them all this season putting up possibly a record setting season as him and Brady will sit atop all quarterback stats this season.

3. Peyton Manning-Even though he lost his favorite target, he still has Reggie Wayne and emerging superstar Dallas Clark. Peyton is getting up there in age but is still one of the most proficient quarterbacks in the game.

4. Kurt Warner-Will this year be Warner's his last hurrah? After a career year at the age of 38, Kurt is going to give it another shot with Boldin and Fitzgerald running routes. They will look for another postseason run in a weak conference but have lost a lot of their coaching staff. Kurt should still be able to lead this team to the postseason but will have a tough time in a tough NFC.

5. Philip Rivers-Rivers had his most effective year of his short career and appears to get better with age. This Chargers team won’t be together forever so Philip needs to lead this team past the AFC Championship game and can do so with his big arm. This team is dangerous and has a lot of weapons for Rivers to use especially LT and Gates.

6. Matt Ryan-Although Ryan didn’t have a monster rookie year, he still managed 3,400 yards with 16 touchdowns. The Falcons are much improved and have had a whole offseason to bond and build relationships. Ryan should have no problem throwing at least 20 touchdowns this season and should reach the 4,000 yard mark.

7. Jay Cutler-Cutler goes from a running back by committee team to a team that has a solid 2nd year running back and mediocre receivers. Hester’s speed will really test Cutler’s big arm and if his other recivers can get open this team will be unstoppable.

8. Donovan McNabb-Donovan complained about not having enough weapons on his team last year. Well they added a receiver and running back from the draft and acquired Michael Vick who will really open up this offense. McNabb is still one of the most reliable quarterbacks in the league and coming off his first full season in 5 years, he will be ready to use all his new weapons.

9. Carson Palmer-Now that TJ is gone, Chad OchoCinco is finally the main focus of the passing game again. If he and Palmer can stay healthy then the Bengals can get out of the basement of the AFC and possibly into the postseason.

10. Matt Schaub-The Texans are slowly getting better year by year and will continue to improve this season. Schaub helped lead his team to an 8-8 record last year even though he missed 5 games due to injury. This is Andre Johnson’s contract year so expect him to demand the ball more so he can get the money he deserves, which will help boost Schaub’s stats.

11. Aaron Rodgers-I didn’t want to put him here because I do not think he will be that good this year, but I know that Greg Jennings will really help Rodgers pad his stats this season. The two games against Brett will either destroy this team’s season or help them build their confidence into the postseason.

12. Trent Edwards-The addition of T.O. is making this Bills receiving group one of the best in the league with Terrell’s power on one side and Lee Evans speed on the other. If T.O. can keep his mouth shut and run the plays they call then this team should expect a postseason berth for the first time this decade.

13. Tony Romo-Tony had to be placed under Edwards simply because of the lost of T.O. Maybe people think he was a cancer to the team, but let’s not forget the 38 touchdowns he had as a Cowboy in 3 seasons. Romo’s numbers should take a hit since his safety net isn’t there anymore and all the attention can be focused on Williams and Witten.

14. Ben Roethlisberger-Coming off a Super Bowl Championship, Big Ben will look to take his team deep into the postseason once again. Even though his stats are never thru the roof, he will give you a solid game week to week as long he keeps his interceptions to a minimum.

15. Matt Cassel-If he is anything close to what he was in New England, the Chiefs will be pleased. After not being able to find a solid quarterback for years, they trade for Cassel and hope he can save the franchise. They have a good running game but that is nothing without a solid passing game.

16. Brett Favre-How could you not include him in here when he is a Hall of Famer. I don’t know if he can survive the entire season but if he does then he will once again continue to pad his record stats. I’m not sure what Brett have left to prove, but whatever it is we will see it with Adrian Peterson behind him which could be a very dangerous combo.

17. Jake Delhomme-As long as this team has Steve Smith it will be considered a playoff contender. He was taken out early this preseason due to injury but is expected to be ready for the season along with his long time teammate Mushin Muhammad. A lethal running game will really open up the field for Delhomme and his receivers.

18. Chad Pennington-The Wildcat formation confused defensives and allowed Chad to have a career year and turn a 1 win team into an 11 win team. He will once again have a solid year as he will have the same offense as last year.

19. Marc Bulger-Even though he lost his top 2 receivers he still has a big arm and has been known to put up big games. This is a make or break year for Bulger after the Rams were in the basement of the NFC.

20. Jason Campbell-Is he the starting QB of the future in Washington? Chase Daniel out performed him last preseason game, but I don’t think he is major competition. He will have a tough time in the NFC East but will still turn out a solid season. His stats have slowly increased as he gets older and they will continue to get better as he gains more experience.

5 Guys to Keep an Eye On

21. Matt Hasselbeck

22. Eli Manning

23. Joe Flacco

24. Brady Quinn

25. David Garrard

2009 Fantasy Football Running Backs

The Preseason is underway, which means the fantasy football season is about to get started. With drafts around the corner, it’s about that time to get started with your research on who’s going to have a record breaking season. Below I rank the top Running Backs for the upcoming NFL season. Look for the remaining positions to be posted as the days pass.

1. Adrian Peterson-This guy is the clear number one pick as running back. He is the most explosive player on the field and if Minnesota can find a starting QB then this team could be the greatest show on turf Part 2.
2. Matt Forte-The addition of Jay Cutler and Matt’s great rookie year puts him at number 2. With a big arm like Cutler, the linebackers should back off a bit giving Forte more room to work with. Forte had 12 total touchdowns last year which can easily exceed 20 if Cutler is the second coming of Jim McMahon.
3. Michael Turner-Turner is actually placed ahead of his mentor LT, but none of us are really surprised. Unless Matt Ryan has a sophomore slump, Turner will turn out another great season giving this team a lot to play for.
4. Ladainian Tomlinson-LT is on his own level when it comes to fantasy football stats, although AP is slowly creeping. Tomlinson is a dual threat both running and receiving the ball, but he isn’t the young explosive player he used to be. If he stays healthy then we all know what he is capable of.
5. Clinton Portis-Jason Campbell needs to lead this team and not put all the weight on Portis. Last year Portis was #3 in the league in rushing attempts with his longest rush at only 31 yards. Campbell’s inexperience allows teams to stack the line and not give Portis the room to find the gaps. No matter how the team finishes the season Portis will once again eclipse 1,500 yards and should reach 10 touchdowns.
6. Brian Westbrook-Could his starting job be at risk now that Vick is on the team? Most likely not, but with that addition some running plays will be taken away from Westbrook. With speed from Vick, Jackson and rookies McCoy and Maclin, Westbrook may be more of a decoy in some Wildcat plays giving him less touches. Although he had a career high 9 rushing touchdowns last year he failed to pass the 1,000 yard mark after doing so the last 2 years.
7. Joseph Addai-Well the Tony Dungy Era is over in Indy, but last time I checked Peyton Manning was still behind center. Addai had a down year last season missing 4 games and will look to bounce back with another stellar season.
8. Steve Slaton-This Mountaineer has won the starting job with his almost 1,300 yard rookie season. The Texans has slowly been improving since the franchise started, but they are still looking for their first postseason appearance. Slaton could be the lone reason why this team has a chance the playoffs this season.
9. Steven Jackson-Jackson missed 5 games for the 2nd straight second, but still broke the 1,000 yard mark. He will once again have a solid year as long as he plays the whole season.
10. Marion Barber-With a healthy Felix Jones and Barber, the Dallas running game will be a tough one to stop. Barber is a bulldozer and will continue his dominance as one of the most unstoppable running backs in the game.
11. Brandon Jacobs-Jacobs was an absolute fantasy monster last year, having just under 1,100 yards with 15 touchdowns. He will once again have another good season but lost one of his backups in Derrick Ward.
12. Ronnie Brown-Ronnie once again took over the starting role in Miami and worked miracles in the Wildcat Formation. This team will once again be dangerous out of that formation and will help Brown pad his stats.
13. Maurice Jones-Drew-Now that Fred Taylor is out in Jacksonville, Jones-Drew is the face of this teams running game. He has never carried the ball more then 200 times in a season, a number he will easily get over this year.
14. Marshawn Lynch-A 4 game suspension is hurting his stock this season, but that leaves him 12 games to prove he is a top running back in this league. The addition of T.O. should open up the field a little more for Lynch.
15. Thomas Jones-The only thing holding T Jones back from leading the league in rushing is their quarterback. Is Mark Sanchez the real deal? Can Kellen Clemens beat him out? Jones is just hoping that someone can win the starting job and help carry the work load.
16. Willie Parker-Coming off a Super Bowl season, Willie Parker will try to bounce back after missing 6 games midseason last year. He is one of the fastest players in the league, making him one of the most dangerous. With a healthy Mendenhall back as well, Willie won’t have to worry about getting all the carries.
17. Reggie Bush-Injuries have hurt Bush’s career so far, but he is the most dangerous all around player. If he stays healthy and doesn’t lose the starting job to Pierre Thomas then he can dominate the league with his speed and moves.
18. Laurence Maroney-Both Maroney and Brady missed last season, but they still went 11-5. All eyes will be on Brady as he is expected to have another monster season. Maroney may lose some careers with veteran Fred Taylor now on the team. Also coming off an injury might also hurt his number of carries.
19. Frank Gore-Gore is asking the same questions as a few other running backs this year; Can my team find a starting quarterback that can help this team? Alex Smith appears to be done in San Fran while Shaun Hill is looking to win the starting job. But can he help Gore open up the offense?
20. Larry Johnson-After having back to back career seasons in 2005 and 2006, Larry’s seasons were shortened due to injury. If Matt Cassel can prove to be a leader, then Larry can once again be a top running back.

5 Guys to Keep an Eye on

21. Ryan Grant
22. DeAngelo Williams
23. Chris Johnson
24. Kevin Smith
25. Darren Mcfadden

MLB 5/31 Fantasy Starts

Ervin Santana P-This could be a make or break game for Ervin, who has had 12 wins 3 of his first four years. A bad outting and a 0-3 start with a high ERA could ruin his confidence for the season. Go figure they play their division rival Mariners who they are just about even with in the standings. If he can shut them down early, he could finally get his first win.

Alber Pujols 1st-After blasting two homeruns last night, he is now 4-7 with two home runs, scoring three runs and added two walks. He gets on base one way or another, and will give you that steal once every 15 games. I expect him to cap off the series with a monster game.

Sean Marshall P-He has won 3 of his last 4 starts, allowing less then 2 runs in all of those starts. His only loss was a 5 inning performance where he allowed 2 runs out of 4 hits and 1 walk. He has always performed well on the big stage, and will need to hold down a hot Dodgers lineup.

NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs Outlook

Now that the All Star game is over, and the trading deadline has passed, NBA teams are going down the final stretch into a possible postseason.

Boston-Clearly the best team in the East, again, as the 3 big are dominating games again. Having 3 superstars to rely on must be pretty nice, and their supporting cast has All Star caliber. This team will coast to the Eastern Conference Finals, while its opponent is somewhere below.

Cleveland-With Lebron having an MVP year, he will be the reason they could win the championship. They have given Batman his Robin as Mo Williams barely got in as an All Star, but is well deserved.

Orlando-Superman is in the building, and is looking to make some noise in the postseason. They are only 4 games behind Boston, so a top seed is still in reach. Someone else will need to step up on this team, because Howard may not be able to do it by himself.

Atlanta-Well, at least they won't have to face Boston in this first round this year. But this team is still young and a playoff series win will not be easy. They may challenge the Magic for the Division Title, but they will need to go on a long streak.

Miami-Dwade, Jermaine, and Beasley is a nice top 3 to have. Wade has playoff experience along with Jermaine, but Beasley will need to step up and prove his high draft pick. This team could be dangerous in the postseason and a 7 game series against the Magic, Cavs or Celts would be a good one.

Detroit-This team is so old, and thats really all i can say. What happened to winning 50 games and getting a top seed and going to the Finals? This team is only 2 games over .500 and is in the middle of a stuffed Eastern Conference. Their experience could win them a series or two, but they will soon gets tired. Lebron scoring 27 of his teams last 28 points against them, remember that?

Philadelphia-With Brand hanging it up for the year this team is looking at a short postseason, if they can even stay in contention. Don't look down Philly, it doesn't look to good.

Milwaukee-This team is always hanging around, but I don't think it has the offense to hang around in the East.

Chicago-Tim Thomas is an upgrade to this team, and could really help them. They are streaky, which could hurt them. But come playoff time, this team would be swept.

New Jersey-With Vince not going anywhere, its up to him if this team makes the postseason. The Nets stadiums are empty, so I can see why Vince wants to leave. But if he performs, they will slide in.

New York-Nate will carry this team to a playoff berth. He is one of the best players in the game and with the team around him, will lead them to the playoffs.

Week 15 Picks

Broncos(+9) vs Panthers-As good as the Panthers have looked, the Broncos, on certain days, have looked even better. With a win here, the Broncos will punch their ticket to the playoffs where they will look for a #3 seed. The Panthers look to stay atop the NFC South with the Bucs and Falcons looming. This game should come down to the wire, and Cutler may win this one with his arm. Broncos 27 Panthers 23

Niners vs Dolphins(-6)-The Dolphins are looking for another win, bringing them one step closer to a playoff berth and possibly a division title. They have been lucky playing multiple West Coast teams in Miami at 1PM, and this is another one. Sure the Niners beat that streak against the Bills 2 weeks ago, then traveled back here to play the Jets, and now travel to Miami. I think this needs to be looked at by the NFL, but until then, the Fins roll. Niners 17 Dolphins 31

Giants vs Cowboys(-3)-Things are just falling in place for the 'Boys to win this. Plax is out, Jacobs is out, T.O. and Witten are beefing. This is all just fuel to the Jerry Jones fire, who called out Marion Barber for not playing. The Cowboys need this win to continue this season, and with all of these problems circling their head, they may be able to pull it out. If they get frustrated early, then this game goes to the Giants, but if they can stay focused then they can pull it out. Giants 17 Cowboys 21

Thursday Night Football

Saints(+3) vs Bears-If the Saints can somehow win out, which with their offense they can, they may be able to sneak into the playoffs. After the Bears, they play the Lions and then at home against the Panthers who could be locked by then and resting. The Bears are still looking for that division title, which is the only way it could make the playoffs. They are already 0-3 against NFC South teams, and will struggle to keep up with this offense, no matter how good their defense is. Brees is having an MVP season, and if he could win these last 3 games, they could make the playoffs and possible lock up his MVP. Saints 42 Bears 28

Week 14 Picks

Bengals vs Colts(-14)-The Colts are looking to lock up a wild card spot with their easy remaining schedule. The Bengals are one of the worst teams in the league, and have absolutely no team chemistry. Peyton will tear apart this defense, while Fitzpatrick will struggle against this high powered Colts defense. This one may be over by halftime. Bengals 13 Colts 42

Bucs(+3) vs Panthers-Sure, the home team is 8-0 when the NFC South has a division game, but this game will be different. Panthers have hardly won some of their games, exposing their weak defense. As good as Delhomme is, he is having a down year while their running game has been the main focus. The Bucs defense is once again one of the best in the league, and will look to shut down Williams and Stewart, making the Panthers one dimensional. Bucs 27 Panthers 21

Texans vs Packers (-6.5)-The Packers are still fighting for the division, and will need to win this game to stay alive. The Texans are 1-5 on the road, and although they won 2 in a row, will have a tough time against the Packers. Aaron Rodgers will try to lead his team to the playoffs in the post Brett Favre era. Texans 17 Packers 27

10 Questions Still to Be Answered In the NFL Season

Can the G-men repeat, even though Plax is not playing? This team has looked great, only losing one game to the falling Browns on Monday Night. They have clearly looked the best in the league, but can they finish for the back to back?

Can the Bucs once again win the division riding their defense all season? Their offense, once again, is nothing better then average, while their defense is stellar as always. Last week against the Saints, Jermaine Phillips had an interception in Saints territory with only a few minutes left. Next Monday Night they will play the Panthers, and the winner of this game will lead the division. Its a game for both teams to showcase what they got, and if they are for real?

Will Brett Favre continue to make bad decisions costing his teams games? There is no player pressured more then Brett, because everyone expects him to always live up to his Hall of Fame name. It looks like they will make the playoffs, but how will he compete against teams like the Steelers, Pats, Ravens, and Colts? Should be interesting.

Is Bill Parcells going to lead the Dolphins to a playoff berth, after winning one game last season (that game was won in overtime on a long pass play). That Wildcat offense has confused coaches, and will continue to. Chad Pennington is once again effective, dealing with whatever players he has. Their defense, led by Joey Porter, has been solid even without long time starts Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas.

Will the Saints, easily one of the best offenses in the league, miss the playoffs? They are at the bottom of the NFC South, and have to win out, and hope for alot of help to make the playoffs. Drew Brees is easily having an MVP season, but can an MVP come from a team that is last in their division? If they do make the playoffs, they will be dangerous, but should worry more about winning on Sunday.

Can Matt Ryan lead the Falcons to a playoff berth? This rookie from Boston College is moving away from the Vick-era, and is doing so in great fashion. Although Turner is a great back, Matt Ryan has made plays when he needs to, and doesn't seem like a rookie. They need to win out and hope for a Wild Card spot. Ryan has passed for over 150 yards each game, but has tough games against the Saints and Bucs and needs to win at least one to stay in contention.

Can Tony Romo pull a '08 Giants, slide in as a Wild Card, and be a dominant road warrior? this team definitely is dangerous, especially when TO gets the ball, but their running game is slowing down. They have had tough playoff games the last two years, and this could be their year. I don't feel this team needs to run the ball to win, as long as Romo has Witten, TO, and Crayton, they can win any game.

Can Kerry Collins get back to the playoffs, and win a Superbowl with 2 stellar running backs? This team, behind the Giants, has looked the best in the league. Chris Johnson may not win ROY due to Matt Ryan's performance, but he will definitely deserve consideration. Their defense is top in the league, but i don't know if this grind it out thing will work in the postseason against a dangerous AFC.

Will the Lions go winless? They don't have an easy schedule, so you can't blame them, but still, not even one game? It would be so embarrassing for them not to win, especially in a time where athletes are paid so much.

Can the Vikings hold onto the NFC North title and make the playoffs, relying on AP? After losing Pat and Kevin Williams both to suspension. AP is the best running back in the league, but can he lead them to the playoffs? Most likely only the division winner will get into the playoffs, which is why its important for them to hold onto that spot. But their defense has taken a step down when losing the Williams twins, so other players will have to step up.

NFL Week 13

Niners vs Bills (-6.5)-Not only are the Bills a better team, this game is another West Coast team coming to the East, and this is one at 1 o'clock. Teams are 0-11 when playing that early this season. , simply because it is like a 10AM game. The Bills are fighting for a playoff berth, while the Niners don't know what they are fighting for. In the weakest division in the league, this team is 3-9 and is looking to stay ahead of the Rams and Hawks. The Bills have beaten 3 West Coast teams in early games, the Raiders, Chargers and Seahawks. The Niners will be another victim, and will be tired by halftime.

Colts (-5.5) vs Browns-Playing Peyton Manning late is the season is not what you want to do, especially when they are totally healthy. The Colts have been on fire and although the AFC South is all Titans, they will be a top wild card team. The Browns lose Brady Quinn for the year and will go back to Derek Anderson. This team will once again be good next year, but are in to deep of a hole to make a run.

Giants(-4) vs Redskins-Even without Plax, the Giants are one of the best teams in the league with their incredible running game. The Redskins looked hot to start the season, but have really lost their rhyme as of late. After starting 4-1, they went 3-3 in the next 6, and sit in the middle of that tough NFC race. The Giants run cannot be stopped, while against them, yours will be stopped. The run overshadows Eli's solid season, with 18 TD's compared to 7 INT's. He is throwing over 60% and has a rating of over 90 for the first time in his career, and is the real reason this team is good.

Week 12

Tampa Bay(-9) vs Detriot-This game is being blacked out, because Detriot failed to sell out for the third time in the row, and only the third time in over 5 years. Tampa Bay has one of the best defenses in the league, and when they play tough, they are one of the hardest teams to beat. Graham is Dunn for the season, but Warrick Dunn will come in and take over. Tampa wins this in a sleeper. Tampa Bay 35 Detriot 10

Chicago (-8) vs St. Louis-The Bears are looking to break the .500 mark, and look to sit atop of NFC North. They have an easy matchup against the Rams this week, as the rest of its division plays against the Jags and Saints(Lions are not in the hunt, clearly). The Bears could be a dangerous team later in the season, if they keep winning now. Chicago 38 St. Louis 17

Indianapolis (+3) vs San Diego-The Chargers season is slowly fading away, as this team packed with Pro Bowlers is looking less and less like playoff contenders. The Colts come into this game on fire, and won't be stopped. Rivers has only lost 2 games at home ever, but this should be #3. Peyton is playing with a passion, and this sloppy Chargers D won't be able to stop them. Indianapolis 24 San Diego 17

5 Professional Sports Franchises That Are Turning It Around

Simply because how they are playing, the Arizona Cardinals need to top this list. Kurt Warner is making a run at MVP, and Boldin and Fitzgerald are looking to both have 1,000 yard seasons for the first time since 2005. But the difference is clearly the defense and the running game. Tim Hightower has stolen the job from Edge, as James is unhappy and wants out. Their defense, although isn't the best, makes stops when necessary and then relies on its offense. Warner clearly brings the veteran play this young team needs. Forget Peyton, Eli, Tony, or Jay in the Superbowl, lets see the "Old Man Early Bird" Bowl in Collins vs Warner, who have a combined 25 years of experience.

The Atlanta Hawks took the Boston Celtics to a game 7 last season, and have started off strong this year. It did start 6-0, but lost 4 in a row allowing at least 103 points in each of those 4. It is a young team that can really be a factor in the weak East. It could also make a push at the Magic, but will need to win those head to head match ups. It doesn't face the Magic until early January, and has a relatively easy schedule coming up before then. It will go on the road and play the Texas Trio, in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, which could be a statement trip. If it can take 2 of 3, or even sweep, the East better watch out for the Joe Johnson led Hawks

The Portland Jail Blazers has a group of young men who just missed the playoffs, now have Oden on the floor who is an absolute beast. People are afraid of him in the lane, and I think only Shaq would stand up to him, or just push him to the group. Oden, Fernandez, Blake, and Roy are names that will become common in Portland and around the league. These young guns have shed the name Jail Blazers, but have a long Trail to the NBA Championship.

One year after the Rays dropped the word Devil from their name, they make a trip to the World Series. Although they lost to the fighting Phil's, they beat out the Yankees and Red Sox for the Al East, which is impressive enough for this team. They have a young core of players, who will once again compete with the Sox and Yanks for the Al East Title.

The Chicago Blackhawks had a winning record for the first time since 2002. Since Roenick, Chelios and Belfour, this team has been upsetting to dedicated Chicago fans. Patrick Sharp and Patrick Kane will look for back to back 40 win seasons, and try for a playoff berth. The West is tough, but a weak division may help this team make it into the top 8. It already has 5 overtime loses, compared to 8 last year, and needs to be able to finish out games and get that extra point.

REALLY NFL?

After sitting out a full season, and being released by the Titans, Pacman got in trouble again, but is back in the NFL. This could be the best game of the weekend as the Ravens look to keep pace with the Steelers in the AFC North. Both these teams has great defenses, solid running games, but the Giants have experience in the most important position, quarterback. Eli will lead this team to victory, as long as he doesn't turn the ball over. The Ravens are a team that win by creating turnovers, and it can not win this game if it doesn't play aggressive and go after the ball. Giants 28 Ravens 13

Saints (-5) vs Chiefs-Anyone playing the Chiefs will always seem like a winner, even if Reggie Bush isn't playing. This team is underrated, even though it sits at 4-5. Drew Brees is having an MVP season and needs keep that going for this team to be successful. Expect Pierre Thomas to start getting more carries, as he is a touchdown machine. Saints 42 Chiefs 17

Cowboys (-2) vs Redskins-Tony Romo comes back, giving the 'Boys the swagger they have been missing. They have lost 3 of 4, and 4 of 6 games, and need to improve their 1-2 division record. The Redskins will be without Clinton Portis, which is the difference maker in this game. That forces Campbell to move the ball, and he doesn't handle that pressure well.

10 Things We Have Learned Early In the Season

Sure we aren't even 10 games into the season, but there are a few things that are shaping way for the rest of the season.

The Lakers are unstopppable. Thats really all I need to say, but I will go on. They are the only undefeated team at 7-0, and I think with this lineup, they have a chance to push for the 72-10 Bulls record. Kobe takes over when he has too, and the other players step up when Kobe draws the extra coverage.

The Celtics may be old, but are mature, and have that confidence of playing together. They beat the Hawks on a last season shot by Pierce, which was rare for him. With a good supporting cast, and a decently easy division, they will coast to another long postseason.

Lebron is a beast. He is so far averaging just under 30 points, 8 bounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. And hes not out there for 45 minutes, he is averaging playing only 37 minutes a game. But as the season moves on, and the games mean more, he will play more, which gives him more time to pad his stats. The Cavs want Lebron to stay in Cleveland, and need to find Batman his Robin. Is Mo Williams the answer? I hope so.

The Knicks are 5-3, and scored 132 against the Grizzlies last night. This was the first game where they shot the ball at will, playing the Mike D'Antoni way. Sure, it was against the Grizzlies, but Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford, and Wilson Chandler each had over 20 points and shot a combined 11-17 from three. Their defense has come up big so far, and their offense has shown they can score points.

The Hawks taking the Celtics to a game 7 in the opening round last year was no fluke. They lost a heartbreaker last nite to the Celts, but that was its first loss of the season. 5 of their first 7 games have been on the road, and they are 4-1 in those games. This team has some easy games coming up and will be a factor in the East this season.

The Clippers added 7 new players from Free Agency, and will remain the weaker team in LA. Sure getting Baron Davis is a huge addition, but they also lost the key of that organization in Elton Brand. This team will be lucky to get to 10 wins this season. Ok, thats a joke, but still, no more then 15.

Don't get in Shaq's way. After a mini-brawl against the Rockets, Shaq decided to take matters into his own hands but using his abnormal strength. He didn't try to talk to anyone, or pull them away. He simply pushed T-mac to the ground, then tried to move Yao out of the way, then went after "Skip to my Lou" Alston and restored order. Personally, if I was on the Rockets, even if i was Artest, if I saw Shaq on the other team, I would stop and probably start crying. He is top 10 in all time scoring now, and has definitely earned to be in the hall of fame. He wants another title with this strong Suns team, but the West is so strong and deep it will be tough.

Rookies are becoming more and more of a factor each year. Players used to be developed, slowly inserted into the game until they felt comfortable playing with the people around him. But now they are put right into the game and told to do well. Mayo, Beasley, Oden among others, are all solid starters. Not to mention the Brooks Brothers are getting their deserved playing time in Phoenix and New Jersey. But who will emerge as the ROY?

The Wizards are past their prime, as all of their players spend more time on the Injury List then on the court. They could be as bad as the Clippers.

The teams we expected to start off well are good, and the teams are were expected to struggle are struggling. But the season is still early, and we really don't know what is to come. We can assume, or have a good feeling, or think maybe the Clippers will come out and win the Championship. Well, maybe not. I think we will see Lebron vs Kobe, because thats what everyone wants to see.

HAPPY VETERANS DAY

Veterans Day is meant to say thanks to all of the army, navy, and air force veterans who have given their lives so we could live better. Veterans often bring the young blood together, and encourage them to do better.
Veterans Day is also to realize those veteran NFL stars who have given their teams a reason to play, and have done it in a winning way.

Kerry Collins-9-0? Really? The Titans quarterback started off the season on the bench, but came in after Vince Young went down. I guess the Madden curse was a year late. After throwing for under 200 yards in 7 straight games, Kerry came out firing after the Bears shut down the Titans run game. The Titans only managed 20 rushing yards while Kerry gave them 289 passing yards. This game proved that this team will run on you, and if you stop the run, then they will pass on you. And good luck trying to score on them. This D has only allowed over 20 points once, giving up an average of 14 points a game.
Brett Favre-Brett Favre magic has hit New York with a running start. He is one of, if not the best, quarterback ever to play the game. Sure he has done it all in Green Bay, but this Jets team was considered a playoff contender before it got Brett. A solid quarterback opens up this teams running game, which was revealed last week. Can this team beat the Pats on Thursday Night and sit alone in the AFC East.
Jeff Garcia-After bouncing around from team to team, then getting benched over Brian Griese, Jeff is back in the drivers seat and the Bucs sit at 6-3. Although having two wins in overtime, it has lost each game by four points or less. Their defense is once again the best in the league, and wins when it creates turnovers. When it gets Caddy back, it will have a three headed monster with Dunn and Graham getting carries. Garcia is effective and has a good receiving core, but this team has always been based around that defense.
Jake Delhomme-The Panthers are sitting at 7-2 and most of that is because of Jake's arm. In week one, it won a thriller over Sand Diego to really jump start this teams season. Jake has thrown less then 190 in only one game, and that was when he had 72 yards against Oakland. But then again, thats more then enough to beat the Raiders. He has thrown for over 230 yards in 7 games, with Steve Smith as his main target. This team is similiar to Tampa Bay, as it focuses on its defense, but will come back and score on you with their offense. This NFC is between Tampa and Carolina, and will be interesting to see who wins.
Kurt Warner-I mean, does Kurt Warner ever have a bad game. Besides the blowout against the Jets, it has lost it games by 4 and 7 points, both it could have won. He had a monsterous game on Monday Night, and has the most 300 yard games in the history of the NFL. The Cardinals are looking to finally make the playoffs, because this team looks legit. Its offense is on fire, and its defensive is good enough to stop you. I can't believe the Rams, and Giants both didn't want this superstar. But behind him has come Marc Bulger and Eli Manning, two of the top QB's in the league.

NFL Week 10

Both divisions are difficult to call, and only the Titans and Giants have seem to pulled away. Many divisions are still 3 and 4 team races and teams just look for a win, and to continue to the next week. There are alot of good games this weekend, as division rivals face off, and will attempt to get that step up on their foe. The Titans will try to remain undefeated, while the Lions will look for their first win.

Falcons vs Saints (+1)
The fact that the Falcon are less then a 3 point favorite at home proves that odds makers think the Saints are still the better team. Sure they don't have Reggie Bush, but they do have Pierre Thomas the French Touchdown Machine and Deuce in the back field. They also have Drew Brees spreading the field and throwing the ball all over the place. The Falcons have started off great, but I don't think they can stop, or keep up with this Saints offense. Brees throws for over 400 yards and 3 tds, which is bad for him. Falcons 21 Saints 34

Titans vs Bears (+2)
The Titans come into this game as the only undefeated team left in the league. They have grinded out wins all season, with great defense, and time consuming and effective offense. But how long can it last? Lets not forget, this Bears team went to the Superbowl two years ago with this same kind of strategy. Both QB's are Superbowl losers, but someone has to win here. We both know these teams can run, but it will be their passing game that will be the difference maker. And personally I would rather have Grossman and that offense then Collins and his. Titans 17 Bears 23

Jaguars (-6.5) vs Lions
The Lions are the only win less team left, having one of the worst defenses in the league. The Jags have one of the best running games in the league then the offense is clicking, and this is the perfect team to do it against. The Jags are 3-5, and are quite a disappointment. With the AFC close, this win will put them back in the playoff talk. Jaguars 38 Lions 23

Another big college weekend

The BCS was open to about 15 teams when the rankings first came out, but with alot of big games this weekend, things should start to take shape. Who will be ranked where, will be decided this weekend, as teams are just worried about getting that W. The BCS averages between each team are so close, that now style points come into play. Sure a win is a win, but a 30 point win will help you more then a 3 point win. Here is what the top 10 teams will be dealing with come Saturday:

Alabama-Everyone is making a big deal about Saban's return to LSU, but I think LSU should be more worried about their opponent. Bama's offense is so effective, while their defense will stop you. LSU is a tough opponent but Bama is a primetime team, and can't afford a slip up. Bama shouldn't have a problem beating this LSU team, who isn't the same as it's been in passed years.

Texas Tech-What seems like a tough opponent in Oklahoma St, Texas Tech showed their offense is for real, while their defense got pressure on McCoy, changing that game. They are the best offense in the league, and can't be stopped. Tech wins.

Penn State-Normally, Iowa would be a difficult game for the Lions, but this team is one of the best that we have seen since their Orange Bowl year a few years ago. The Big Ten is tougher then it seems, and if Penn State can stop Iowa's great running game, they will have it in the books before the 2nd half.

Texas-Their tough schedule is over, and now they simply need to win these last games and play that teams ahead of them lose. Only one loss to Tech will keep this team in the top 5, as long as Tech keeps winning.

Florida-Florida is looking forward to the SEC championship against Bama, as it will want to make it to the National Championship. It has a number of wins over top 25 teams and with Tebow in control, its the most dangerous team in the league.

Oklahoma-This team lost all of its National Championship talk with its lost to Texas, and won't jump them in the BCS rankings. Other teams losing is the only thing that will help this team.

USC-They actually play a team in their conference that is ranked, in #21 California. It needs to hope that Oregon State gets better, as it will help their BCS ranking. This offense definitely has the most All-Americans, and I would like to see them match up against a good SEC or Big 12 team.

Utah-A huge win over under #11 ranked TCU will help this team crash the BCS party. By winning out this season, and some help, it could have National Title consideration. Keeping this in mind 5 teams ahead of them still have conference championship, and could jump them.

Oklahoma State-A loss to Tech will knock this team out of BCS talk, while a win could put it in National Title talk. It has probably the third best offense in the Big 12, and will need to out score Tech if it hopes to win.

Boise State-One loss and this team is done, so as long as it keeps winning, it could find itself in a BCS Bowl game.

College Football Week 10

If the winners of these two games win out, and win their respective conferences, they should, and most likely will play for the national championship. Penn States wins are not impressive, and Bama will have to play either Florida or Georgia which can knock them out. Without a doubt the winner of these games, IF they win out, will play for the national championship.

Georgia +6 vs Florida-The winner of this game will most likely end up playing 'Bama for the SEC Championship. Will Tebow once again lead his team to victory, or will Mareno run it down Florida's throats. These are two of the best offenses and defenses in the league, and will be an ugly game in Jacksonville. Florida has alot of playmakers on offense, but Georgia will counter that with all of their playmakers on defense. Florida will be looking to make the big play like they always do, but will be tough against a stout secondary. Georgia's only loss is to #2 ranked Alabama, while Florida's only loss was to Ole Miss which it lost on a missed extra point. The SEC is easily the toughest league in all of College Football, so no doubt the winner of the SEC makes it to the National Championship. Georgia will squeak this one out mainly on their defense. They will be able to stop Tebow, while Mareno will explode as he has over the past 3 games, running for over 425 yards. Georgia 38 Florida 27
Texas Tech +4 vs Texas-Texas is arguably the best team in the nation, while Texas Tech clearly has the most explosive offense in the nation. The Big 12 South has four teams in the top ten which is absolutely ridiculous. The winner of the South easily beats Mizzu for the Big 12 championship and will build its resume for a National Championship. Tech's offense is unstoppable, as Graham Harrell has thrown for 3147 yards and 28 touchdowns, in 8 games. This Heisman candidate will need to win this game to show he is for real. Texas has the better defense, and they say defense wins championships. Well, none of those defenses has had to go up against Harrell and Crabtree. If Tech's O-line gives him time, he will find receivers. The more pressure Texas gets on him, the better chance they have of stopping him. Texas Tech 52 Texas 38

Week 8 Picks

Tampa Bay vs Dallas-2 -Dallas is without Tony Romo, which was a major concern for the Bucs defense. Brad Johnson, who led this Tampa Bay team to a Superbowl victory 5 years ago, will be under alot of pressure as Tampa will look to put him on his back. This defense is to quick and creates to many turnovers. Dallas is in a downward spiral, and Tampa caught them at a perfect time. Tampa Bay 27 Dallas 21

Raiders vs Ravens-7 -These two teams both have shaky offensives, and defensives that will stop you, so this will be a low scoring game. With both offensives struggling, this will be a "grind em out" type of football game. The Raiders aren't as bad as they seem, while the Ravens may be a little old, and overrated. Ravens 14 Raiders 10

Jaguars -7 Browns-The Jags will look to hop back into the AFC Playoff picture with a big win here. The Browns are somewhat improved, but still don't seem like the team they were last year. The Jags need a big win, and will get it here at home. Jaguars 28 Browns 14

NFL Week 7 Picks

Giants -6 vs Niners-Sure the Giants suffered a tough loss at the hands of the Browns on Monday Night, but you have to think the Browns are better then they seem. The Giants are clearly the better team here and can start to pull away in this division if the other team struggle. Not to mention, this is another West Coast team coming to the East, playing a 1:00 PM game, which is 10:00 AM for these teams. Teams who traditionally visit the East coast suffer due to the time difference, and this game should not be any different. Giants 38 Niners 17
Jets -4.5 vs Raiders-Another New York team that is underrated. This team was considered a turnaround before it had Brett Favre, and now he is back to his Favre magic. Insert him in any offense and he will be sucessful, and the Jets offense is not to bad. Their defense is young and i feel will get better as the season goes on. Raiders are young, but to inexperienced. But im sure JaMarcus Russell is excited to see Favre. Jets 28-14
Redskins -2.5 vs Browns-If the Browns can pull off back to back victories against NFC East teams, it should automatically be allowed into the Superbowl. Like the Giants last week, the Skins suffered a loss, but theirs was a last second field goal instead of a Monday Night blowout. Jason Campbell has gained confidence and is ready to become a leader. This game could be exciting in the beginning, but probably will be over by the 4th quarter. Redskins 23-13
Tampa Bay -8.5 vs Seahawks-Tampa Bay comes into this game with 4-2 record, and so far is 3-0 at home with wins over the Falcons, Packers and Panthers. Tampa travels to Dallas next week for a huge game that can decide the fate for each team. Tampa can't overlook this Seahawks team with a solid defense. But it can overlook Seneca Wallace, the former Iowa State star, who will start Sunday. This Tampa defense creates turnovers and gets pressure on the QB, and when they do this they win. This Seattle team is sputtering, and will continue on Sunday Night. Bucs 28-16

NFL Power Rankings Week 7

Titans-The only undefeated team in the league has only allowed 56 points on defense so far this year. Their balanced offense has yet to have their starting QB thrown for over 200 yards, and has never had a leading rusher over 110 yards. I'm not sure if they can keep winning this low scoring affairs, although their defense is young and will score on you. Perfect Season?

Giants-The Giants need to win their next game against the Niners if it wants to run away with the division early. That loss to the Browns was some what expected, especially with a Browns team that needed a win. Eli threw a season low 197 yards and a season high 3 interceptions in Cleveland, but can't let that get to him. This team has the best offense line in the game and will continue to coast until the postseason.

Steelers-Big Ben has that Superbowl experience with almost the same team. They are younger on defense with players like James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley who had a combined 7 years of experience, and 12 sacks, 4 forced fumbles combined.

Cardinals-Surprised? Well in the last two games they have knocked out the starting QB out of the game, both Tony Romo and Trent Edwards. They have an offense that is explosive, countered with a young speedy defense that will stop you. But this is a team that even if you do score, they will score right back. This team has a balanced offense using two running backs and two big name receivers.

Bucs-When this team creates turnovers and scores off them, they win. They destroyed the Panthers with 3 interceptions and a blocked punt for a touchdown. Insert Griese/Garcia, let them move the ball and this team will win their games. They play the Romo-less Cowboys in 2 weeks which will be a real challenge.

Broncos-A great offense led by Jay Cutler suffered a tough loss to the Jags on Sunday. They are still on the right track and will slide into the postseason, but they better watch out because the Chargers are climbing.

Redskins-After beating the Eagles and Cowboys, the loss to the Rams wasn't anything serious. This team is ready to compete but has a tough division to overcome first. Campbell needs to keep up the good games if they want to win.

Cowboys-Who loses on a blocked punt in overtime, honestly? Not only that, they losing their starting QB for a month. This team needs to focus on each game and not look ahead to the playoffs just yet.

Panthers-They turned the fall over 3 times and also had a punt blocked for a touchdown Sunday. They lost a big divisional game and sit tied with Tampa Bay and Atlanta for the lead of the NFC South.

Bills-This team will welcome Trent Edwards back to the starting lineup Sunday, and they need him. Although J.P. Losman filled in fine they will need Trent to be effective for this team to stay on the winning side of things.

Colts-The Colts blew out the Ravens 31-3, and really turned their season around. Peyton played well and their defense showed up. They are now a force in the AFC again.

Patriots-A tough Sunday Night lose to the Chargers may send this team in a downward spiral. Matt Cassel needs to not get frustrated and play with poise for this team to stay competitive.

Jets-Brett Favre looked good on Sunday and may finally be in sync with his offense. He is having one of the best season of his career. Each Sunday i expect this team to mesh more and more, to a winning season.

Falcons-Matt Ryan became a man on Sunday, after leading his team to a last second win. He has really blossomed into a good Quarterback, and the Falcons have turned over a new leaf. Sitting at 4-2, they are tied for first in the NFC South.

Bears-An upsetting loss to the above team puts the Bears at #15. They played a great game, but because of a short kickoff they lost the game. They are still a good team and will cause some problems if their defense is effective late in the season.

Packers-Aaron Rodgers seems a little healthier and seems to be back on track. They are a dangerous team and the NFC is totally up for grabs, so it is theirs to win.

Jaguars-A big win over the Broncos help kept this season alive for this team. They have a powerful running game and will need them to produce if they want to win.

Chargers-A huge win over the Patriots, and this team is right back in it. This team has Pro Bowl talent all over the field and hit a skid like this last season, and turned it around.

Eagles-Once Westbrook comes back, this is one of the best offenses in the NFC. The NFC East will be in for quite a battle once all teams are healthy. Who knows who will win.

Vikings-With AP and a quarterback that can pass the ball, this team has a shot at the playoffs. They have a tough road which will show if this team is for real or just a fluke.

Saints-A team at the bottom of their division but is probably the most dangerous. Don't forget this team is without Shockey and Colston, and they are due back soon.

Ravens-This team is slowly falling, as its offense has not been around in the last 2 weeks.

Dolphins-Losing on the last play is never easy, especially against the Texans. They have talent and play in the move improved division in the league. But how long will this Wildcat Offense surprise teams?

Niners-They gave the Eagles a tough game, but in the end just blew it and couldn't stop them. They will need to learn to close out games if they want to have a meaningful season.

Browns-A big win against the Giants could turn this season around for the Browns. They have an All-Star caliber team and were Superbowl contenders this year but started off terribly.

Seahawks-This team is the most shocking out of all of them. A good team all around, and now have their starting quarterback on the bench. It is still early and they need some quick win.

Texans-Finally getting a win is just what this team needed. Although they have a long way to go, this team has a good offense and decent defense which could cause problems to playoff teams.

Raiders- The Raiders have a good young team and next year will be a top contender. As for now, they should worry about a good draft pick.

Rams-This team finally got a win against the Redskins, even though it took five weeks. I want to see this offense start working on all cylinders.

Chiefs-Tony Gonzalez wanted to play for a Superbowl team, and was not given the chance since they wouldn't trade him. This team will struggle all year on offense.

Bengals-Well, at least they tried against the Jets. After an opening minute fumble recovery by their defense, things looked good. But then the Brett Favre show started, and the Bengals lost once again. They need Carson Palmer back if they plan on winning at all.

Lions-First their quarterback runs out the back of the end zone, then they blow the game by giving up a last minute field goal. Now we learn that they gave away Roy Williams to the Cowboys, making this team even weaker on offense. They are in for a long rough season

NFL Shake Down

What a weekend in the NFL. The NFC stud, Tony Romo injuries his pinkie on this throwing hand and is expecting to be out up to a month. Not to mention, 5 games during the day Sunday were decided in the final seconds, whether a field goal or a blocked punt for a touchdown(we will get into it later).
Boys became men, and men became legends in the first set of games. Matt Ryan has led his team to a 3-2 record heading into a game with Chicago. This rookie out of Boston College has given the team a new look, getting them away from the Michael Vick days. And this rookie just became a man, by not only throwing for 300, but by completing a pass with 1 second remaining on the clock to set up for the winning field goal. The Falcons, although sit at 4-2, are 0-2 in the division and sit in third. Tampa Bay is in first, after a stunning blow out of 27-3 against the Panthers. The Redskins lost a heart breaker to the Rams on a last second field goal, even after the Rams got a personal foul for yelling at the ref.
The most stunning loss had to be the Cowboys losing the the "we may be finally good" Cardinals. Losing on a last second field goal, or a big run at the end is a tough loss, but imagine losing on a block punt that lands at your own 2? Wade Phillips must have peed his pants when he heard the roar of the crowd, because im sure he wasn't even watching. Not only did they lose the game, but they lose their superstar QB Tony Romo (no homo). He hurt the girly thing on his body, his pinkie finger. But in comes Brad Johnson, who has led a Tampa Bay team to a superbowl win. This team really has opened things up in the NFC. 7 teams in the NFC have 4 wins, but three are in the East and 3 are in the South, while 5 teams sit at 3-3. They also have the Giants who are 4-0. The AFC has 3 teams with four wins, and the undefeated Titans. The Titans are 5-0, and play the Chiefs after the bye. Their undefeated streak will come to an end soon after that, as their schedules goes; Colts, Packers, Bears, Jaguars, and Jets.

The Dow is down 25%, but Colts tickets are up 12%?

In the light of the recent economy swing, nothing is predictable anymore. We all thought the market would turn around, but things are not looking good. First the high gas prices were hurting car and travel segments, but now the finances are tanking. So what are people to do in these tough times? Even though the dow is down 25%, over the last few hours, the Indianapolis Colts are up over 12%. Yoonew.com is a website that allows you to own contracts to any professional sports team, assuming they go to the postseason and championship.
This company was created in 2004, when the CEO Gerry Wilson was unable to get 2003 World Series tickets. It is a way to exchange tickets three seperate ways; team seat, matchup seat, or a straight up ticket. The team seats allow you to purchase a contract based on one team making it, the matchup is two seats making it, or a ticket to the event no matter what. In 2006, a Steelers fan purchased 18 tickets at an average of $185, which were selling for about $2,500 each around game time. Last year, someone purchased a Giants ticket around the start of the playoffs for only $86.
It is a cheap way to invest in a stock market, which is a little more predictable. Why purchase some Wachovia stocks, when you can get a better return on purchasing some Falcons tickets. I was thinking of buying some as they were playing the Packers on Sunday and were up 10. The next think you know the price doubles from $7 to $14, and before the end of the game they were around $22. We don't know if the financials will turn it around, but we do know that the Cowboys will make the postseason and will be a heavy favorite. So what is the better investment, putting $300 in the NYSE, or taking that money and putting it on a chance to see your team in the Superbowl, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup or World Series.
Football is obviously the most expensive since there is no 7 game series, but usually turns the largest profit. NCAAF has been recently added and the market is due for a big shake up this weekend. I don't think the market will be down for much longer, but one thing I know for sure, the Miami Heat will be a playoff team this year and they are some of the cheapest tickets on the exchange.

NCAA Week 7

Texas Oklahoma-The best game of the weekend, and surpasses OSU USC for the game of the year. The Red River Shootout is always exciting, especially with these teams producing such stars over the last few years. Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford had quite a shootout last year, with Oklahoma winning 28-21. I expect this to be an offensive game as both teams are aiming for a National Championship. Oklahoma has yet to face a tough team, and was sitting at #2 until USC lost. Texas is sitting at #5, undefeated, and has really jumped due to other teams losing. The Texas leading rusher is McCoy which proves this team likes to put it in the air, and beat you on defense. The Sooners have a powerful running combo with DeMarco Murray and Chris Brown(not the rapper). Both runners have over 300 yards and at least 5 touchdowns. These two will be the difference maker in this game as Texas has a tough time running the ball.
Oklahoma 45-36
LSU Florida-Florida needs this game in order to be in the fight for the National Championship. With a loss to Ole Miss on a blocked extra point they cannot afford to lose another SEC game. LSU has jumped all the way to #5 and is still undefeated. Although Florida is ranked #11, they have a lot of tough games left that with a sweep could be a top seed. Although Florida has a solid running game, it doesn't have that power back, which it will need against a tough LSU defense. LSU switches quarterbacks, and brings in Andrew Hatch, using him as a TIm Tebow. Like Tebow, he is 6-3, but weighs 215 compared to Tim's 230. Hatch is the 2nd leading rusher on the team behind Charles Scott, who averages an impressive 7.5 yards a carry. Although Florida has looked great besides that Ole Miss game, their defense is a step below the intensity. The fans in Gainesville will be pumped for this, the LSU defense will take the air out of the building after Tebow gets blindsided and is taken out. If things fall right, the Tigers could make the jump to #1.
LSU 28-17
Oklahoma St Missouri-Missouri is averaging over 50 points a game, and although it has a weak early schedule, it did include Illinois and playing at Nebraska. Chase has looked incredible completing 76% of his passes, 1665 yards and 15 toucdowns. Their game on the ground is also solid as Derrick Washington, their leading rusher, has 500 yards and 10 touchdowns. They also have one of the best receiver combos in Heisman hopefull Jeremy Maclin and Chase Coffman, who has a combined 64 catches, 930 yards, averaging 14.5 a catch and 8 touchdowns. Oklahoma State also has a solid offense and are also undefeated. They will have a tough time keeping up in this game, especially since its in Missouri. Although it is a ranked matchup, Missouri should man handle them and coast to a Big 12 North Title.
Missouri 52-28

NFL Week 6 Rankings

1. Giants-The defending champs beat up on the 'Hawks, proving they are once again for real. They have one of the bet offensive lines that helped produce over 250 yards on the ground. Eli has grown up before our eyes while their defense has been solid without Strahan or Osi.
2. Cowboys-Although it was a close one, the Cowboys were going on all cylinders Sunday. Terrell Owens got his touchdown, Felix Jones once again explodes for a long run, and Romo gets a lucky touchdown off of Miles' hands. That loss to the Redskins may hurt them later in the season.
3. Titans-Another win for this team by simply grinding it out until the end. They beat the streaking Ravens who were tired after an overtime game against the Steelers. They seem to be happy with Kerry Collins at quarterback, but wouldn't they just be better with Vince Young? I feel if they hit a slide they will insert Young.
4. Redskins-Another big win, this time against the Eagles. This team is on fire and is sitting on a 4 game win streak. Campbell has really matured after the last few weeks and not understands Zorn's offense. With a heathly team and good play from Campbell this team could really challenge for the NFC East Title. They have played all of their away games in the East, and simply have to host all teams later in the season.
5. Broncos-Jay Cutler led his team to a tough win against the Bucs and improved to 4-1. With the rest of their division struggling they could pull away early and then play for home field. This teams offense has been explosive but were contained against a tough Bucs D. Certain teams are having down years and the Broncos could really feed off that.
6. Steelers-Big Ben pulled off another victory at the hands of the Jags. They got pressure on him but Big Ben wormed his way out to once again make big plays. But he took another beating which is what this team needs. A game against the Bengals comes next week and will feature alot of Willie Parker. Big Ben will take a little time off and let his team run at least 40 times, as he rests up for the Giants and Redskins in the following weeks.
7. Bears-Blowing out the lowly Lions wasnt to impressive but this team has looked solid. Orton has worked well with the offense and most of that is thanks to Matt Forte. The Packers are not playing well and the Bears will look for a division title with a solid D and an offense that moves the ball.
8. Panthers-This division is also looking like the best in the league and the Panthers sit at the top. Their offense is clicking while their defense is quick and powerful. If they stay healthy, they will be a major factor later in the season.
9. Patriots-The Pats moved easily past the Niners as they win once again without Maroney. They are still a great team without Brady, and Cassel has alot of weapons to help move the ball.
10. Cardinals-Without Anquan Boldin this team hosted the Bills and handed them their first loss. They have a great running game in Edge and Higtower and Warner still has the arm to make the big play. They can easily win the weakest division in the league if the continue to put up points.
11. Bills-They lost both Trent Edwards and the game on Sunday, possibly hurting their season. This is the most improved division with all teams playing well. They will have to win the close games if they want to remain competitive in the tough AFC.
12. Bucs-Jeff Garcia made an appearance Sunday, and didn't help the Bucs. When Griese left the game, alot of confidence walked off the field with him. Jeff Garcia was suppose to be the savior, now the team can't produce with him under center. Hopefully Griese will come back and save this teams season.
13. Falcons-Matt Ryan has been terrific and led this team to a victory over the Packers on Sunday. They are greatly improved but will have a tough time battling the Bucs, Panthers and Saints.
14. Colts-Peyton led his team to an amazing comeback on Sunday and may have gotten the confidence needed to propel this team. They will just have to focus on winning games and keeping pace in the AFC.
15. Chargers-A tough loss, but something tells me this team is not out. They have Pro Bowl talent all over the field and can definitely win games. If they dont win against the Patriots they season could officially be done.
16. Ravens-Another tough loss drops this team to 2-2. Joe Flacco needs to start getting touchdowns if this team wants to win, because the defense can't do it all.
17. Eagles-This team is apparently the worst team in the NFC East. McNabb needs Westbrook for this team to win, because they could be the best if they are healthy. Their defense has been solid but needs a healthy offense to help them win the close games.
18. Vikings-A huge win over the Saints helps give this team confidence to be competitive. They have a quick and dangerous defense, while Gus Frerotte has shown off his arm. AP needs to get going to help this team, because he didn't on Monday Night.
19. Jets-After a bye week, Brett Favre will look to lead this team to another victory. They have an easy schedule with the Bengals, Radiers and Chiefs and need to win all three to compete with the Pats and Bills.
20. Packers-A tough loss to the Falcons drops this team to number 20. It hasn't been that impressive since the first few weeks, and now Aaron Rodgers isn't fully healthy.
21. Saints-Reggie Bush has really turned it around this year but this team is only 2-3. Their defense hasn't been special but has been decent enough to win. They are a very dangerous 2-3 team.
22. Jaguars-They lose Sunday Night to the Steelers and fall further behind the Titans. Their offense isn't as powerful as it was last year and their defense is another year older.
23. Dolphins-After a great win against the Chargers they sit at 2-2. They have doubled their win total from last year and look like the most improved team. Chad Pennington and Ronnie Brown have helped this offense and will need more wins to stay afloat in the AFC East.
24. Niners-This team lost a pretty close game to the Patriots and need their defense to step up for them to win close games. They could be dangerous, because they do have stars around the field.
25. Seahawks-This team proved that any West Coast team traveling to the East Coast for a 1PM game, they are not going to win. That is like playing a game at 10AM, something that is totally unnatural. If they were more awake, they could have made it a good game.
26. Browns-This team doesn't look good, especially since it's defense has yet to show up. Maybe next year for this team.
27. Raiders-Run DMC needs to help this offense after losing close games. They could be dangerous especially since the rest of their division is weak, minus the Broncos.
28. Bengals-They almost beat the Cowboys, and have a strong offense that is still looking for its first win. They will get it soon as they seem to be playing better and better each week.
29. Lions-This team is not looking good, even though it has an offense that can produce. Kitna needs to get going as it plays their division foe Vikings next week.
30. Chiefs-Apparently Brodie Croyle will get the start this weekend. Until they find out who their starting QB is, they will struggle.
31. Texans-How are you going to blow a game like that? They could have ruined the Colts season, but instead they gave them confidence. Which in past seasons has been fuel to the fire for Peyton.
32. Rams-This team was lucky it has a bye week, and i couldn't drop it to 33rd. They need their defense to help out the offense if they want to win any games this season.

NFL Week 5

Bears Lions-Detroit is looking for their first win of the season, and the first in the post-Millen era. They have a decent football team but really have no leadership. The Bears are looking for the lead in the NFC North as Orton had a career game last week against the Eagles. The Bears will look to pound the line with Forte, then giving Orton the ball only when necessary. Lions struggles will continue as this defense will be tough to go against. Bears 28-13
Start Em'-Matt Forte should have a good game while Orton may get some early deep balls to pad the lead.
Sit Em'-Kevin Smith will not get alot of touches if the Lions fall behind to far.

Falcons Packers-The Falcons are a surprise 2-2 and have a tough game against the Packers. Matt Ryan, who has yet to play a game in cold weather, will travel to Green Bay and will become a real man after this game win or lose. Aaron Rodgers is apparently injured, but has to learn to not let it get him down. As a young player, this injury could affect his mindset and really rattle him. The Packers have 2 rookie quarterbacks behind Rodgers and really hope he is healthy enough to go. The Falcons defense is tough and will need to put pressure on Rodgers, while their offense needs to give Turner alot of carries to keep the chains moving. Packers 17-10
Start Em'-Ryan Grant is due for a big game, and is still looking for his first touchdown of the season.
Sit Em'-Matt Ryan will have a tough time passing against this secondary in this weather.

Chargers Dolphins-The Chargers need to start this game strong, unlike its past games. The Dolphins are a tough, physical team and will give the Chargers alot of problems with its defense and steady offense. Ronnie Brown will not have another 5 touchdown game, but will get a decent amount of yards against a beat up Chargers defense. Chad Pennington may have a difficult time passing against a tough secondary and will have to look for the short pass, as he has his whole career. The Chargers are only a game behind the Broncos but need to keep pace with them as they look like a SuperBowl team so far. Phillip Rivers needs to test this secondary and needs to look for Gates and Chambers. Chargers 35-20
Start Em'-LT will need to have a huge game if they want to win, because the Dolphins are no easy task.
Sit Em'-The Chargers will attack Chad Pennington and force him to throw balls he wish he had back.

Seahawks Giants-The undefeated Giants come into this game atop of NFC East. The Seahawks are a bust so far this year, and have to play the Giants, Packers, and Bucs over the next few weeks. Hasselbeck has looked unimpressive as their running game has helped them this season. The Giants should not over look this team as their defense is solid and their offense can be just as good. If Hasselbeck can find a receiver he likes then they will give the Giants alot of trouble. Giants 27-23
Start Em'-Brandon Jacobs and Julius Jones should get alot of touches as both teams have solid secondaries.
Sit Em'-Eli Manning may throw a few picks to this tough defense as this team will have to rely on its running game.

Redskins Eagles-The NFC East is the best in the league, and this game should be the best of the weekend. Philly needs Westbrook in this game, even thou Buckhalter is a solid backup. When healthy, this Eagles offense is the best in the league. Donovan McNabb has been going off lately, with 1100 yards and 6 touchdowns. He has connected well with DeSean Jackson while Curtis and Brown have yet to come back. The Redskins pulled out a close one against the Cowboys last week in a much needed win. The loser of this game will sit at the bottom of the division and will have a tough climb to the top. Eagles 26-24
Start Em'-Donovan McNabb should have another big game, as he makes an early bid for MVP.
Sit Em'-The Eagles secondary is the best in the league, and will force Jason Campbell to look short.

Chiefs Panthers-The Chiefs got their first win of the season, but face a tough matchup against the Panthers. The Panthers are 3-1 and have won because of their defense. The Chiefs should struggle to score against this team, as the Panthers will drive down the field. Delhomme will have another good game as he spreads the ball out and confuses that Chiefs defense. Panthers 30-14
Start Em'-Jake Delhomme will have a big game against a shaky Chiefs defense.
Sit Em'-Larry Johnson will not get many touches as the Chiefs struggle this game.

Titans Ravens-A big game as the Titans look to stay undefeated and the Ravens try to overcome their first loss. Joe Flacco looked impressive last week but has a tougher matchup against the Titans. Both teams should struggle to score as these are 2 of the best defenses in the league. Kerry Collins veteran play should help lead the Titans to victory in this one. Titans 17-14
Start Em'-Chris Johnson should continue a great rookie season against this tough defense.
Sit Em'-Joe Flacco will struggle against this defense that will pressure him all game.

Colts Texans-The Colts need this win, more then any other team this week. They cannot afford to fall to 1-3, and fall to far behind the Titans. The Texans came into the season looking for a winning record or a playoff berth, but will just look for a win at this point. The Colts should win this game easily as Peyton looks to get back on track. Colts 31-13
Start Em'-Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne will turn their season around on this game.
Sit Em'-Matt Schaub will struggle this game against a defense that will pressure you all game.

Bucs Broncos-This game is a true test for both teams, as both started off 3-1. Both have good passing games, and have relied on their defenses to help them win. Cutler and Marshall are a great combo, as Griese has helped this team win against the Bears and Packers. The Bucs defense has been terrible, once again scoring points off turnovers. Tampa has a tough schedule, which will really prove what this team has to offer. The Broncos will need to minimize mistakes to help them win this game. Bucs 27-23
Start Em'-Jay Cutler and Brian Griese will both have solid games once again.
Sit Em'-Ernest Graham has yet to get going this year and will have a tough time against this front 7.

Bengals Cowboys-The Cowboys look to bounce back from an upsetting loss against the Redskins, while the Bengals look for their first win of the season. The Bengals will have trouble scoring against a tough D, even though Ocho Cinco said he will kiss the star in the middle of the field if he scores a touchdown. Keyword: If. This team looks terrible, and is playing one of the best teams in the league. The 'Boys should have no problem scoring against this defense as they coast through this game. Cowboys 35-13
Start Em'-I don't know where to start, but i guess i'll start with Romo, Owens, Barber and Witten. All will have solid games as this offense goes off.
Sit Em'-Chris Perry will get very few touches as this team struggles to score.

Bills Cardinals-The Bills look to keep their undefeated season going as they head to Arizona. The Cards will be without star WR Anquan Boldin and will ook for Fitzgerald to step it up. After an upsetting loss against the Jets they will look to bounce back and try for a division title. This should be a great game as both has good offenses and solid defenses. The Cards have a shot if they can force turnovers against this Bills team that has come back to win their last 3 games in the 4th quarter. Cards 28-24
Start Em'-Marshawn Lynch will look to keep the clock moving in this game as the Bills look to stay undefeated.
Sit Em'-Edge James seems to be losing his starting job, at least in the redzone.

Patriots 49ers-The Pats look to keep pace with the Bills as they look to run away with the division. Even without Brady this team is one of the most dangerous teams in the league. They should have an easy time against the Niners, as O'Sullivan will be pressured all game and make mistakes. Gore will need to take the pressure off JT if they want to keep this game interesting. Pats 42-17
Start Em'-The Pats offense will once again be led by Matt Cassel as he spreads the ball around again.
Sit Em'-JT O'Sullivan will most likely struggle against a veteran defense.

Steelers Jaguars-The Sunday Night game is a battle of two teams in need of a win. The Jaguars sit at 2-2 and are 2 games behind the Titans. The Steelers barely won against the Ravens as they look hold onto the lead in the division. Both teams have stout defenses and effective offensive which proves this will be a great matchup. The Steelers will be without much of a running game with Parker and Mendanhall out for this game. Big Ben will have to pass at least 40 times on a difficult secondary. Garrard has only 2 touchdowns this season and will need to pass to help open up the run. Jaguars 27-21
Start Em'-Maurice Jones Drew will have another good game as he helps lead this team to victory.
Sit Em'-David Garrard will mostly hand the ball off to his 2 solid running backs and will only pass when necessary.

Vikings Saints-AP has another national audience to prove himself in front of, after a bad week 1 performance on Monday Night. Gus Frerotte will really need to help this team as AP can not do everything on his own against a tough Saints team. The Saints have looked explosive so far, as Bush leads the team with 31 catches and 440 combined yards. He has really turned it on now that Colston and Shockey have been out and has helped lead this team. After a heartbreaking loss to the Broncos, they destroyed the Niners and are looking to have a season to remember. Saints 32-20
Start Em'-Drew Brees and Reggie Bush will have great games as they have all season to lead this team to victory.
Sit Em'-Gus Frerotte will have to throw alot if AP can't get started, which could mean trouble for this team.

NCAA 10/4

Auburn Vanderbilt-A big game for both teams as Vandy attempts to turn around their football program, while Auburn will try to avoid another SEC loss. With a win, Vandy will go 5-0 for the first time since 1943. In the tough SEC, getting a good start into your conference schedule is needed to compete for the title. After Vandy, Auburn doesn't play a ranked opponent for over a month, with a good matchup against West Virginia. Besides a win over South Carolina who was then ranked, Vandy hasn't played a tough schedule. Chris Nickson has not thrown an interception yet this season, but will have a tough time throwing against Auburn. Auburn 31-21
Ohio State Wisconsin-Both teams come in this game with a loss, but OSU was out of conference and give them the edge. Pyror is in the game and is making a difference, going 2-0 and now leads the team in running with 292 yards and three touchdowns. Wisconsin is still upset over their 2nd half collaspe, and with their 0-1 Big Ten record, sit towards of the bottom of the Big Ten. They have a tough schedule coming up with Ohio State, Penn State, Iowa and Illinois, and if they can sweep those four will on their way to a major bowl game. Ohio State has the edge with Wells and Pyror literally running the show. Expect them to run all over Wisconsin.
Ohio State 32-27
Oregon Southern Cal-Southern Cal sitting at #9 proves how much a bad loss like that will hurt them. Simply because a loss to Oregon State they are behind BYU and Texas Tech, even though on the other end it won the biggest game of the year against Ohio State. Oregon ranked #23 also has one loss, with that coming from the always dangerous Boise State. If they can steal this game, they have a relatively easy schedule and could be on their way to the top. The Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12 dominate all top seeds, and with each win must come a loss. When the BCS comes out, the more teams lose, the more they drop. Oregon or USC can coast while other teams struggle each week to play other ranked teams. USC is the better team and will jump in the rankings soon to the top.
USC 42-25

Week 5 Power Rankings

1. Giants-This team is still the defending champs, and until someones beats them, they will be number one. They have a matchup against the Seahawks that shouldn't be overlooked.
2. Titans-One of the most balanced teams in the league sits at 4-0 atop their division. They have a solid run game with White and Johnson, and only make Collins throw the ball when needed. Shutting down this running game is the only way to stop this team.
3. Bills-This is the surprise team of the year so far, sitting 4-0 at the top of the AFC East. They have won 3 straight games after going into the fourth quarter losing, but will need to learn to start games strong. It has yet to play the Jets or Patriots, which will prove how ready this team really is.
4. Cowboys-The only reason they are not higher is because their loss last week, in a game where the running backs run the ball less then 10 times. They need to spread the ball out and get Felix Jones involved a little more. They are in the most difficult division in the NFL, and need to win those games against the Redskins, Giants and Eagles.
5. Panthers-This team has an explosive receiver core now that Mushin Muhammad has returned to the team after a couple years. Their rookie running back Jonathan Stewart has turned out nicely with 4 touchdowns this season. Their defense is once again fast and will make you turn the ball over.
6. Broncos-After a shaky game against the Chiefs, this team will turn it out, and Cutler will continue his MVP season. They really need to shake that game off, because their next 3 games are against the Bucs, Jagaurs, and Patriots which is on Monday Night. If they want to be one of the best games in the league, they will need to win at least 2 of those next 3 games.
7. Steelers-After losing Willie Parker, they lose Rashard Mendenhall and will have to resort to resigning Davenport. Big Ben needs to step up in this offense if he wants another playoff appearance. He has solid weapons in Miller, Ward and Holmes and needs to spread the ball out. I don't see much reason for this team to run the ball if he has those 3 options.
8. Buccaneers-The Bucs have started off 3-1 and once again have a defense that will score on you. They will need to get the running game going if it wants to continue to win, because Griese will not be able to do it on his own.
9. Chargers-LT and Rivers need to turn this team around, a team that has gone deep into the playoffs the last few years. They have games against the Patriots and the Bills that they will need to win as the Broncos look to pull away.
10. Eagles-They have two loses that they could have won. First the shootout with Dallas, then running it four straight times against the Bears. They have two relatively easy games against the Niners and Falcons it needs to win, while it next game is against the Redskins.
11. Jaguars-Once the running game gets going, the team is unstoppable, as proven the last 2 weeks. They are 2 games behind the Titans, and will struggle to get that division title. Garrard has struggled and has 2 tough games against the Steelers and Broncos, which could turn this teams season around.
12. Jets-Brett Favre has a career high 6 touchdowns last week and proves this team is for real. The team has an easy schedule with games against the Bengals, Raiders and Chiefs, and won't see the Bills until week 9. They will need to win these easy games and really prepare themselves for the Bills and Patriots. Their defense is young and has been great, even though it let up 35 to the Cardinals last week.
13. Bears-Kyle Orton led this team to a huge win over the Eagles and sit at 2-2. Matt Forte has turned it on and is making a statement for rookie of the year. This teams stout defense will lead it to victories, as long as Orton doesn't turn the ball over. They could give the Packers a real run for their money.
14. Patriots-Tom Brad...i mean, Matt Cassel will have a tough time facing the Broncos and Chargers in the up coming weeks, but should breeze by the Niners. Even without Brady, this team is stacked with talent and will go as far as Cassel can take them. He looks just like Brady in the pocket, which is trouble for other teams.
15. Saints-This offense has been so explosive, scoring at least 24 points a game. The Saints have a defense that is prone to giving up the big play and need to lock down if they want to make it to the postseason.
16. Colts-Tony Dungy was upset with the early week 4 bye, but after a 1-2 start, he said it was much needed. They meet the Titans in 4 weeks, and Peyton really needs to step it up if this team wants to stay with Tennessee. Their run defense needs to come to a game if they want to stay in any game.
17. Packers-Aaron Rodgers struggled against Tampa Bay, and his shoulder is apparently injured. This is his first big blow, and he needs to recover. After waiting years to play, he can't let this get him down. He has a great connection with Jennings and could be the next Manning Harrison combo.
18. Redskins-A win against the Cowboys was huge, but Campbell still has a lot to prove. They have a tough match up against the Eagles that will give the winner the edge in the standings. Portis is once again doing well and will get a lot of touches against the Eagles.
19. Seahawks-This team is once again in the weakest division, but have a tough 3 game stretch, where they travel to the Giants and Bucs, and host the Packers at home. Their offense has been decent at best and defense has been decent. They need to win 2 of 3 to stay close in this division, and doesn't play the Cardinals until week 11.
20. Falcons-Matt Ryan has started off the season well, and has brought this team far away from Michael Vick. Ryan has thrown at least 150 yards a game, leading this team to a 2-2 record. The Falcons are 0-2 in the division so far, losing both games 24-9. This division could emerge as the best division at seasons end if they all keep winning.
21. Ravens-A close one on Monday Night keeps this team from going 3-0. Joe Flacco has handled the ball well and has driven this offense down the field. Their defense once again is the best in the league, dominating teams and hitting hard. If Flacco stays consistent, this team will give the Steelers a run in their division.
22. Vikings-After a QB change, this team is looking to turn it around, but a tough game against the Titans kept this team from a win. AP might as well be the quarterback because he is this team. They are lucky the Bears and Packers haven't run away yet.
23. Cardinals-After possibly losing Boldin, and an embarrassing lose to the Jets, it has a tough three game stretch. After hosting the Bills and Cowboys, it will travel to Carolina to play the Panthers. Their offense will struggle without Boldin, so expect Fitzgerald to step it up and Warner to look more to him.
24. Niners-JT has started off decent, but that's all this team is, and can be. They have no superstars and will struggle to win games this year.
25. Dolphins-After beating the Patriots on the same play, 5 straight times, they sit at 1-2. 6 of their next 8 games are at home, and need to win those games to hang around.
26. Raiders-The drama that unfolded the last few days could have been used in a reality show. This team will try to look past Lane Kiffin and attempt to turn around their season. With Russell and McFadden leading the offense, they have a chance of being good, as long as they can finish games.
27. Browns-After a good off season, its turning out to be a terrible season. Brady Quinn's helmet is on, and is breathing down Derek Anderson's neck. Another lose, and their season will be over and it will be Brady time. Brady Quinn that is.
28. Texans-They were hoping for a playoff berth or winning record this season, but forgot they have to play Colts, Jags, and Titans twice each. They will have a tough time getting a win this year.
29. Bengals-Ocho Cinco said that on Sunday when he scores a touchdown against the Cowboys, he will run out and kiss the star. This is if he gets into the end zone. Chris Henry comes back, and could turn this team around. If it's defense can improve they could still turn this season around.
30. Chiefs-That win against the Broncos wasn't impressive, as they were probably looking forward to Tampa Bay next week. This teams quarterback situation is usually picked out of a hat, and have no real leaders. They need to worry about drafting a QB this year.
31. Lions-Kitna and Calvin Johnson have started off nice, while the Lions still don't have a win. Millen is finally gone, and this team will look to turn over a new leaf. They have decent players and can win games, just not this year.
32. Rams-After switching quarterbacks, then switching coaches, this team is still win less. Now Jim Haslett, the former Saints coach, and Marc Bulger will lead this team to an awful season. Usually a combo like Bulger, Holt, and Jackson isn't effective when their defense doesn't help them out, and that is the case here, allowing at least 30 points a game. Sure, this offense is solid, but it needs help. A lot.

MLB Playoffs...round one

Cubs Dodgers-The Cubs come into the playoffs looking for their first world series title in 100 years, while Torre is in the playoffs for the 13th straight year. Both teams have solid pitching and an explosive offense. Manny Ramirez has really turned it on seen being traded to the Dodgers and has really helped the guys around him. The Cubs are relying on Lee, Soriano and Ramirez to prove some offense for the team that has really been rested up, and given a lot of players a chance to make the final playoff roster. Although they have the rest and curse on their side, the Dodgers have Torre on the step of the dugout and Manny at the plate, and I believe that experience alone will give them the edge. The Dodgers have the better bullpen, and that will be the difference in this game. Dodgers in 4
Angels Red Sox-The Angels are the AL team that is rested, and have been for a while. The Red Sox are sore after only clinching on Thursday and have injuries around the diamond. Beckett is not starting until Game 3, and the Red Sox could easily be down 2-0 going into that game. They will really need Pedroia and Ortiz to get on base and get this offense on track. The Angels seemed primed for the World Series and should be able to beat the Red Sox. Mark Texeira has helped this offense, and is what they needed to beat the Red Sox. Last year the Redsox came in and won, now they don't have Manny, and the Angels have a big bat. Also, the Red Sock legend Curt Schilling is not there to give that pitching staff that veteran push. If the Red Sox are fully healthy they could win this series, but the Angels are playing them at the right time. Angels in 4
Brewers Phillies-The Brewers are here because the Mets could not close them out in the end of the season. They took the lead Sunday minutes after the Mets lost the lead, changing everything in the NL playoffs. The Phillies offense has been unstoppable with Howard having an MVP season. This team is full of stars with Rollins, Burrell and Utley, all with all star power. Their pitching will be the factor as they have an edge now that Sheets is gone. The Brewers offense is also good but young, with Prince and Bruan leading the way. C.C. can not carry this season on his own, and unless the Brewers can steal one in Philly, this will have trouble winning. Phillies in 5
White Sox Rays-The White Sox had the craziest trip to the playoffs, and have the tough task of playing the Rays. The Rays are a new team after dropping Devil from their name and are excited for their first playoff series. The White Sox have the experience which could be the difference maker. They have players that have been to the post season, and have won a title with this team a few years ago. Ozzie Guillen knows how to win, and proved it Monday and Tuesday. They have the big bats in Konerko and Thome, and have a young gun in Alexei Ramirez. The Rays have no playoff experience and are the youngest team in the playoffs. Their excitement and the excitement in the Trop should help this team overcome their inexperience. The fans and team are ready for this series and should be able to handle the tired White Sox. Rays in 5

Why Sports will save the Economy

Why is this time so special to the US? It is the time of autumn, the leaves changing, and the games being shown in Hi-Def. This is usually the time when people are getting back from their long vacation, but because of high gas prices people are afraid to travel. But now it is time for America to get back into tradiation, and sit on the couch. Sports are getting exciting and a lot of people are watching. Whether it is the White Sox playing the Twins for a 3 game series in Minnesota, or the Cowboys Eagles Monday Night Highlight Reel, millions of people are watching these games. And if they are lucky enough to live close to one, and have the money to attend one, they will watch one of these games live that will go down as historic games.
In the MLB, teams like Tampa Bay and the Cubs are doing things that have never been done before. The Rays were the joke of baseball for years, but finally surrounded their young stars with quality veterans. Pena, Hinske, and Floyd have helped Longoria and Upton run the Al East, having to beat out the Red Sox and Yankees(sorry New York). The Cubs haven't won a world series in 100 years, which is longer then any US sports team. To think that sports teams like the Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, or the Anaheim Ducks have won a ring or trophy, and the Cubs haven't is sad. Now these big cities, like Chicago and Los Angeles could have two teams in the playoffs if the White Sox can somehow win the Al Central. New York is prating on the Mets, but are enjoying the attention being given to Favre. Big games like this mean big money, whether its the people buying private suites and spending $10,000 to watch a Cubs game and hang out, or the big companies spending millions on extra advertising to appeal to the younger crowd. During the autumn times, these stadiums fill up, with most MLB and NFL stadiums holding an average of 50,000 people. Early in the season these parks like Shea or Miller Park are hardly full, but now when it means something there is not an empty seat. Sure you lose all the games from teams like the Pirates or Nationals, but we all know that no one is really watching these games.
Even though baseball is fun, football is upon us and the Cowboys and 4-0. Every Sunday, Monday, a few Thursdays, and i think twice Saturday, close to a million people will go to an NFL football game. If Bush wants us to spend money, tell him to give us free NFL tickets. Most fans would spend their whole stimulus check at a NFL game. With tickets, parking, food and personal seat licenses things add up, but people are willing to pay it. I heard a Giants fan say, "Well they want $10,000 for my new seat at the new stadium, without the prices of the tickets. But of course I'm going to pay for it." Dedication and tradition is what this country needs to build its economy. For those of us not lucky enough to attend, we will spend our whole Sunday watching these NFL games and we are also spending money. Instead of spending a Sunday at Home Depot with the wife deciding if you want to get new patio furniture, you will be ordering wings, picking up beer and watching NFL games. For all those at home, they will see new commericals with Brett Favre and IPhone. The new commericals will show them new things, and they will decide to spend their money on that. Whatever it is, people are tired from a long summer of working through high gas prices, and are ready for some football. NFL games are huge, but NCAA games beat them in attendance and college kids. College kids take their money giving it back to the food and beverage, mostly beverage part, of the economy. Stadiums can hold up to, and over 100,000 people, with most of them to drunk to drive. College football means tailgating, and that is simply gives students another reason to get up at 10am and start drinking, even if the game isn't until 8pm.
It is for these simple reasons that I feel the economy will turn around over the next few months. Sports give us something to be proud of, whether their team won a title or if it has the first pick in the draft. They give us a reason to spend more money, as Saturday and Sunday are not longer the same. This is the time when baseball matters, football is starting, and ESPN is blanketed with college football game. People like the Yankees, Tom Brady, and any average Joe look forward to a Sunday afternoon, and should be willing to open up their wallets a little more.

NFL Week 4

Browns Bengals-The only good thing to come from this game is that the state of Ohio will finally have a win. These two teams have started off terrible, after talk about the Browns being a Superbowl team. The Bengals showed some heart in the overtime loss against the Giants, and their offense may be getting on track. Although Ocho Cinco was ineffective, TJ finally had a solid game with over 140 yards. Both teams have shaky defenses, so this game should be close and lose scoring. But in the end the Bengals will pull it out and leave the Browns at a lonely 0-4.
Bengals 24-17
Start Em'-Chris Perry got going last week and will continue to do again this week. Chad Johnson is due for a big game.
Sit Em'-If he's not careful, Derek Anderson could be on the bench in the 2nd half. Could this be the start of the Brady Quinn era?

Vikings Titans-This game features two veteran quarterbacks who started the season as a backup. Both are moving in the right direction and have solid running games that could propel them into a deep postseason. The Titans defense is playing great and will need to keep it up as the season progresses, and Kerry Collins will simply need to be effective as he has been and this team is unstoppable. The Viks need to give AP his touches and let him do what he does best, break tackles. These teams are very similar, as they rely on their running game to open up the pass and drive down the field. Then they will play tough defense and challenge you to score. The Titans defense is better and will be the difference in this game.
Titans 21-20
Start Em'-Both Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson will get a lot of touches as both teams attempt to control the clock.
Sit Em'-Sidney Rice will only get a few looks as Gus Frerotte will simply be told to milk the clock and hand it off to Peterson.

Broncos Chiefs-Broncos have started off the season on fire, as Culter looks like a possible early MVP candidate. But two of the games they won were won on shaky calls. The first against the Chargers was won when a fumble was not called, and then Shanahan made a gutsy call to go for two. And convert. Then on the 3rd down before the Saints missed a game winning field goal, a Bronco linebacker was offsides and it was not called. You can't say that made them win the game, but its a different story with a fresh set of downs. Chiefs look terrible and can't find a starting quarterback. Larry Johnson is starting off slow simply because the offense can not get started. Broncos win it in a sleeper.
Broncos 38-13
Start Em'-Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall will make a lot of headlines this season if they can keep this up.
Sit Em'-Damon Huard is expected to start, but doesn't mean he is expected to finish. I wouldn't be surprised if three different quarterbacks were used.

Niners Saints-The 49ers have started off the season with a 2-1 start, and think JT O'Sullivan may be the answer. He has averaged 235 yards a game with three touchdowns and one interception. Gore has averaged just under 100 yards a team with a touchdown in each game. Saints on the other hand have just lost Shockey for a few weeks but have been impressed by Reggie Bush's recent burst. He has done great running the ball and catching it out of the backfield with 130 combined yards a game with 3 touchdowns. The Saints offense will be to much for the 49ers defense, but will keep it competitive to half-time.
Saints 42-21
Start Em'-Reggie Bush will have another good day as he continues his great season, while Drew Brees will have another Brees day, 300 yards and at least two touchdowns.
Sit Em'-Frank Gore may not see many carries in the second half if the Saints pull away.

Cardinals Jets-A big game for both teams, as the Cardinals look to become 3-1, while the Jets look to get to .500 and not fall to 1-3. The Cardinals once again look like a team that has turned it around but need to continue to win if they want to make the playoffs this year. They have impressive receivers, two solid running backs, and a veteran quarterback that has been to the big game. Their defense is young and quick, although they are common to give up a big play. The Brett Favre saga continues as he struggled on Monday Night, a stage he is used to and has mastered. But this game was a whooping, and he finished the game injured. There were rumors that Kellen Clemens would start the game, but i think New York would prefer an injured Favre. Both teams need this win, but i think Favre needs it more, because that division is getting stronger. In the end, Brett will save the day, and will once again be the big name in the media.
Jets 26-17
Start Em'-Brett Favre is looking for a big day, while his counterpart Kurt Warner needs the same thing to keep his team afloat.
Sit Em'-Thomas Jones will have trouble running against the Cardinals front four, and Jets will need to pass the ball to win this game.

Packers Bucs-Aaron Rodgers was handed his first loss at the hands of Tony Romo. He will look to bounce back against the Bucs who, after throwing 67 times against the Bears, also sit at 2-1. This is a tough spot for both teams, as neither want to fall to 2-2. The Bucs running game has been weak as of late and have really relied on Griese to lead this team. I don't expect a lot of running in this game as Rodgers and Griese will show off their arms. Both secondaries will be tested, and the Bucs veteran play will be the difference maker in this game as they pull out the win.
Bucs 24-20
Start Em'-Aaron Rodgers continues to have a good season and will connect with Greg Jennings.
Sit Em'-Ernest Graham and Ryan Grant will have a tough time running against two tough defenes.

Falcons Panthers-A big game for both teams, as one of them will improve to 3-1 and sit atop the NFC South. In a competitive division, these games are important. Matt Ryan will have a tough challenge against this Carolina defense who will pressure him all game. Michael Burner Turner will really need to have a good game if the Falcons want to win this. Panthers on the other hand will just need to get their offense going. They have only averaged 269 yards a game on offense and need to get those wheels turning. This game will show who's ready to play in the NFC South. The Panthers will come out on top, due to their skill positions and their defense.
Panthers 28-17
Start Em'-Steve Smith is due for a big game, while Jake Delhomme is looking to torch that Falcons secondary.
Sit Em'-DeAngelo Williams slowly seems to be losing his job to rookie Jonathan Stewart.

Texans Jaguars-The Jaguars are looking to stay afloat and get back to .500. With the Titans streaking, the Jags need to keep pace if they want to make another postseason trip. The Texans have yet to play a home game due to the hurricane that destroyed the Houston area. The only highlight on this offense so far this season has been rookie Steve Slaton from West Virginia. Schaub and Garrard each only have one touchdown each, while Garrard has thrown 4 interceptions, 3 more then he did last season. As long as Taylor and Jones-Drew can keep the chains moving, the Jags should have no problem dropping the Texans to 0-3.
Jaguars 32-13
Start Em'-Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor got it going last week, and will attempt to do the same this weekend.
Sit Em'-Matt Schaub has looked un-impressive in the two games he has played in this season.
Chargers Raiders-The Chargers finally got on track last week dismantling the Jets, while the Raiders lost a heartbreaker to the Bills on a game winning field goal. The Chargers really needed that win to keep this season going, and will probably keep it going again this week. The Raiders are still young, with basically a rookie quarterback and a rookie running back, both who have looked good. This team is another year or two from being competitive in this division. Russell and McFadden need time to work together and get on the same page. Rivers is looking great, with 9 touchdowns so far. He will need to go deep a few times to test this tough Raiders defense. LT also turned it around last week, finally scoring making fantasy owners happy. Chargers give the Raiders a shock
Chargers 35-18
Start Em'-Phillip Rivers and Ladainian Tomlinson will both keep it going from last week and lead this team to victory.
Sit Em'-JaMarcus Russell will have a tough time passing against one of the best secondaries in the league, especially against Cromartie.

Bills Rams-Trent Green will get the start, even though Stephen Jackson isn't happy about it. I don't believe this team is struggling because of Marc Bulger, it's the way this offense is ran. They are no longer using the pass to set up the run, which is what they are built for. The Bills have been the surprise team on the league as they started off 3-0. Lynch has been running well and Trent Edwards has minimized his mistakes. The Bills are also one of the fastest teams in the league, having three guys on special teams that can hurt you at any time. The Rams, even though at home, will be in for a tough time against this Buffalo defense and will have a problem stopping this offense.
Bills 24-10
Start Em'-Marshawn Lynch will again have another good game leading the show on this offense.
Sit Em'-If the Rams fall back to early, Stephen Jackson will not see alot of touches as this team is self imploding.

Redskins Cowboys-A huge divisional game as the 'Boys look to start off 4-0. Their running game is reminding me of Ron Dayne and Tiki Barber, a new age Thunder and Lightning. Marion Barber and Felix Jones have been doing great on offense and even special teams. These two are tough to stop, especially when Witten and TO are on the field. This offense is just to good and should again coast into the playoffs. The Redskins are trying to stay out of the basement in the toughest division in football. After a big win against the Saints, they pulled out a tough win against the Cardinals. They have an easy schedule, and simply need to win to keep their season going. But this is one they will have trouble winning.
Cowboys 30-20
Start Em'-TO threw some nice blocks last week, but this week they expect him to have another solid game. Santana Moss has traditionally ripped apart the Boys secondary with his speed and will do so again.
Sit Em'-This game should be a shootout, meaning Clinton Portis may not see the ball to many times.

Bears Eagles-The Bears have slipped since their opening week win against the Colts, after losing to the Panthers and Bucs. The Eagles on the other hand have looked very impressive, even in that Monday Night Thriller against the Cowboys. The Eagles are averaging 30 points a game, while only giving up 17. Even though Westbrook is out, Buckhalter knows this system well enough to be thrown into the mix. Donovan has been the MVP of the team so far this year, showing off his arm. Philly only allows 46 rush yards per game, which mean Matt Forte will have a tough time running the ball. This mean that the Bears offense will have problems getting started. The Eagles win this one, mainly because of their defense.
Eagles 24-14
Start Em'-Donovan McNabb has yet to slow down, and until he does I would start him.
Sit Em'-Kyle Orton will have problem throwing against Asante Samuel and Brian Dawkins. May we see a Grossman appearance?

Ravens Steelers-Rashard Mendenhall thought he was sending a text message to fellow running back Ray Rice saying he is going to have a big game on Monday Night, his first career start. He later took it back, saying he was only joking. Apparently Rashard has not watched the Ravens defense this year, as they are starting to look like that Superbowl team. Even though they have one of the worst offenses, they rely on the defense like they have for years. The Steelers will look to get things going against a tough D without their start running back Willie Parker. Big Ben will have to carry the team on his shoulders, and keep the Ravens from going 4-0
Steelers 26-24
Start Em'-Hines Ward has been Big Ben's main target this season, and will try to find a few openings this week.
Sit Em'-Joe Flacco, although 3-0, has yet to throw a touchdown. He will need to start producing if this team wants to keep winning.

Tropical Storm Thursday

Apparently, this storm hitting the east coast is not only bringing rain, but good games. Not only did USC get upset (after i predicted they would kill the Beavers), but three of the MLB games that matter at this point came down to the wire. The Mets played in pouring rain, with the rain starting at 7:30. After close to two hours left in the game, the Mets turned it around and pulled off one for the ages. Then up in Minnesota, after the Whitesox lost the first two against the Twins, the Twins scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th. This game went into extra innings, with the Twins winning in the bottom of the 10th with a game winning hit from Alexi Casilla. The Brewers were tied 1-1 going into the 10th inning of their game with the Pirates, Ryan Braun rocked a past to left right for a walk off grand slam. These three exciting games made for a great night, and will propel us into a good weekend. In the MLB, playoff spots will be up for grabs. The Whitesox need to beat the much improved Indians, having to face Cliff Lee on Sunday, will be a tough final three games. The Twins have the advantage playing the Royals to end their series. The Mets are playing the Marlins, who always give them a tough time while the Brewers have to go against their in Division rival Cubs. Cubs played the Mets tough, although not all their starters were used, Lou Pinella was subbing guys to get his final roster ready for the playoffs.

NBA Eastern Conference Central Division Preview

Click on the NBA link to the right to check out the Eastern Conference Central Division Preview. Neither USC or Oregon State has played since September 13th, when the Beavers beat Hawaii 45-7. But USC will show up to this game ready like they will all year. USC has four running backs with at least 10 running attempts, averaging above 3.9 yard a run. With all of their big stars, this offense does not have a touchdown over 50 yards. Sure, your saying its only two games into the season, but this is the USC. Maybe this team finally has enough top prospects from around the country where they may not need that big play. They will just grind it out, score on almost every possession, and stop you and score against you with their defense. USC deserves this #1 spot and will not fall all season. They are just waiting for this matchup with Georgia in the National Championship
USC 48-13

Saturday
Alabama vs Georgia-Both teams head into this game 4-0, and 1-0 in the SEC. The loser of this game will fall in rankings, and most likely out of the SEC championship game. The Tide will give the 'Dawgz a run for their money, pun intended. They alternative four running backs, each with a touchdown and averaging at like 3 yard a carry. Knowshon Mareno, a New Jersey native, will show Alabama how it only takes one man to run the show instead of four. Hes has averaged about 114 yards a game, but will have problems finding running lanes against this tough Alabama defense. The defense lines contains a 6-5, 390 pound monster by the name of Terrence Cody who will make things different to run up the middle like Mareno likes to do. He will also get alot of pressure on Matt Stafford making it difficult to get that offense going. With that said, I still like Georgia, especially with Mareno' quickness. It will be a challenge, but the Dawgz will prevail.
Georgia 24-13

Oklahoma vs TCU-Oklahoma is holding onto that #2 spot, and doesn't want to move. #24 ranked TCU comes to Norman, and is going to attempt to stop this offensive powerhouse. Sam Bradford is throwing almost 80%, with 12 touchdowns, accompanied by 10 from their running game. TCU's offense will need to pass the ball to stay close in this game, but run the ball 2:1 over passing. If Oklahoma can stop the run, TCU will struggle to put points on the board. This team needs to put up points to stay close in this game, especially on the road. Oklahoma will eventually run away with this game, as it waits for its meeting with Texas in two weeks
Oklahoma 49-24

Penn State vs Illinois-The Big Ten's in conference winners always leave with more pride, with 12 rivalries having some sort of trophy at stake. From Minnesota vs Michigan (Little Brown Jug), to Michigan vs Ohio State (no trophy needed), these rivalries run deep. Unfortunately for both teams, this is not a rivalry game. Penn State is 4-0, while Illinois is 2-1, losing to then-ranked #6 Missouri. Penn State can attempt to take a solid spot at the top of the Big Ten, as surprise Northwestern and Minnesota join them at 4-0. If Penn State can win this team, they will be looking at a top ten ranking and will be focused on a major Bowl game. I except their defense to be more surprised then their offense, and they hold down Juice Williams. Playing in Penn State at night doesn't help, since their fans will have more time to drink before the game. The home team wins this game, and will take over the Big Ten.
Penn State 35-21

NBA Eastern Conference Atlantic Division Preview

Celtics-A year after winning the NBA championship, and having a ridiculous payroll, the big 3 are a year older, and possibly a year too old. Although they were set for the Finals last year, this year will be alot tougher, as alot of teams are improved. The Celtics made no serious moves to improve their team, even though they had Allen, Garnett and Pierce. Now that Garnett and Pierce won a ring, what will they do? My guess is return to being an above average team, but not having enough to make a difference in the East.
Raptors-Germ O'Neal, 6'11, and Chris Bosh, 6'10, are two powerful people to have in the paint at all times. With another short playoff appearance last year, this team is hoping that O'Neal can boost them in the East. Although the team will not rely on Germ and Bosh, they will need to rely on their role players. If Calderon, Kapono and Moon can make the big shots, then this team really has a shot at making some noise in the East. Calderon, although he only averaged 11 points a game, also averaged 8 assists a game, will be a big part of this team. He shot 52% from the field, 42% from three, and 91% from the line, proving with the ball in his hands he is dangerous. Look for his stats to sky rocket as O'Neal and Bosh will draw alot of double teams.
76ers-Another team that had a short playoff run, but almost pulled off the upset against Detriot. With their young stars like Iquodala, and picking up Kareem Rush and Royal Ivey, this team has a shot at winning this division. Signing Elton Brand was huge for this team, as they finally have a big guy to throw into the paint. Andre Miller needs to have another solid season for this team really to prosper. As for Samuel Dalembert, who averaged 9 points and 9 boards against Detriot, he will put up bigger numbers having Brand play inches away from him.
Nets-Years ago this team was in the playoffs, putting out year after year of solid play, now are on the way down. Sure they got alot of youth for J-Kidd, this team no longer has the leadership it once had with Kidd and Jefferson. Vinsanity is now the leader of this team, and must use his veteran play to help guide this team to an above .500 season. Devin Harris and Yi Jianlian are two solid players, but are new to this system, and may struggle. I expect Vince to take the ball into his hands most of the time to attempt to take over this team.
Knicks-Ahh the Knicks, I just don't know where to start. This team brought in Mike D'Antoni to help propel this offense, but with this roster, I'm not sure even he can help. Zach Randolph and Q Richardson need to step up their play if they expect to be competitive in this division. With Duhon running the point, he has alot of options, but it will come down to if he will chose the right option. In all honestly, I do expect this team to be one of the best improved, simply because of the coach and the potential of their offense. But it is all about chemistry, and if this team cant click, or if Starbury is to much of a distraction, then this team will falter, again.

Except division reviews as the days go on....

NFL NEWS 9/24

Plaxico Burress was suspended for the Giants next game against the Seahawks. This is exactly what the Super Bowl Champs didnt need. They made it through last year with this big distraction, Shockey, on the sidelines. Now this is something that can bother the team, and hurt their team. There may be a reason why Plax didnt go to practice and didnt answer his phone, but all you have to do is call, its not to difficult

The Lions finally, and i mean finally, got rid of Matt Millen. For years he was unable to do anything at all with the Lions, giving them draft after draft of WR, and nothing to help build the team. They have never had a solid running back since Barry Sanders left, and have had no solid QB, although Kitna has fit in well. Maybe the Lions will finally turn things about, but dont expect it to happen this year. The Bears, Viks, and Packers are tough teams to play, and this team even with this move will still finish at the bottom.

NFL WEEK 3

Giants Bengals-This game was just embarrassing for the Giants. Although the G-men outgained the Bengals, Jacobs only gained 35 yards on 14 rushes. The fact that this game went into overtime should make the Giants worried. Their D did shut down CJ, but let TJ go wild with almost 150 yards. They really need to step it up if they want to compete with the Eagles and Cowboys.

Chiefs Falcons-Well, i didn't expect this game to be that high scoring, but I suppose that the Chiefs defense really is that bad. Its sad when you let a rookie QB go 12/18 for 192, a TD, and no INT's. Then you get pounded on the ground for over 200 yards. Its just not a good day. Chiefs better look to win a game soon, or they will end up 0-16. Their QB situation is crazy, they have no big time receiver, Gonzalez is getting to old, and LJ is just overrated. If Falcons defense can keep their team in the game, their offense could win them alot of games, especially with that running game.

Raiders Bills-Easily the game of the week. Raiders, with their coach on the hotseat, gave it their all, and still lost. Bush and Mcfadden combined for almost 100 yards on the ground, while Russell didn't throw much, he was effective and kept his team in the game. But once again, the Bills were right back in the game, and were lead by Trent Edwards, who ended any QB controversy in Buffalo. Lynch is an absolute beast on the ground and is turning into one of the best rushers in the league. They have one of the quickest teams in the league, and so far have been the surprise team in the league.

Bucs Bears-My Bucs pulled it out, coming back from 10 points to send it into overtime. Then Charles Tillman stupidly got a personal foul called, and gave the Bucs another shot. Griese threw his arm out, as he threw 67 times for over 400 yards. Bucs run game once again was not impressive, but Griese took over the game. Tampa Bay also over came 4 turnovers to win this game, while Chicago had two of their own, one of them being a TD by Gaines Adams. These are two teams that will definitely be in the playoff hunt this season.

Viks Panthers-Was Taravis Jackson that bad? I mean after losing a game to the Colts they should have won, big bad Gus comes in, controlled the clock, was effective passing, going 16/28 for 204 yards. AP didn't have a great day, but still averaged over 4 yards a carry. Panthers offense was once again terrible, with under 50 yards on the ground, and under 200 threw the air. As good as the Panthers are, their offense needs to get going if they want to remain competitive in the NFC South. This could be a turn around game for the Viks.

Dolphins Pats-WOW. Thats all I can say. This game wasn't even about Tom Brady being out, its just about the Dolphins running the single wing formation, with Ronnie Brown at the QB position. 5 times they scored, and all times were in that formation. This game must be blamed on the Pats old defense, and Belichick being outcoached. Usually those are plays that he likes to run, those little trick plays that always work. The Bills and Jets will battle for this division if the Pats continue to struggle.

Titans Texans-The Titans showed that they are a force in the AFC. With the Colts and Jags struggling, the Titans can run away with this division. Kerry Collins is a solid quarterback, who led a team like this to the Superbowl years ago. Think about it, Chris Johnson and Lendale are a new form of thunder and lightning, and they have a great defense that scores points. If he can control the game, they could be a force to be reckon with. Slaton had a career day for the Texans, but it all won't mean nothing if Schaub doesn't turn things around.

Redskins Cardinals-A great game played in the nations capital, as the Redskins didn't want people to forget they were in teh NFC East. The Cardinals attempted to win their first big game of the season, but are still a solid team. The Redskins and Cards played a close game the whole time, with both offenses doing well. This game simply came down to the last team to score would win the game. Edge better watch his back, because Tim Hightower from Richmond U is slowly creeping up on his starting job.

Broncos Saints-Broncos win on another blown call? Maybe its not the NBA, but the NFL that is fixed. The Broncos player was clearly offsides on that 3rd down, before the field goal. Sure, you cant say that Gramatica makes the field goal, but its just another shot to get it closer, and possibly get a touchdown. Brees had another solid day through the air, and Bush is starting to come around with 2 TDs, and close to 150 yards. Although Saints lost, they cant let this loss bother them. That is a game they easily could have, and should have won. The Broncos better watch their back, because not all of their games can be rigged.

Niners Lions-The Lions proved that they are one of the worst teams in the league, gettin spanked by the Niners. Gore had a solid game on the ground, as JT is still attempting to become a solid QB. They controlled this game in yards, and in time of possession. Also, they didn't turn the ball over. If you don't turn the ball over, its hard to lose the game. Niners may hang out in the NFC West, but they will need to keep winning to compete with the Cards and Seahawks.

Seahawks Rams-How can an offense with Stephen Jackon, Bulger, and Holt only score 13 points. Bulger is not gettin benched because he is clearly not producing. The Seahawks finally turned out a good game, with Julius Jones going over 140 yards on the ground, while Duckett came in with 79 yards. Although no one can name the Hawks receivers, all they have to do is catch the ball. Once this team gets healthier, it will get better.

Ravens Browns-This was the biggest surprise of the week. The Browns, a powerhouse in the AFC last year, is 0-3, and is considering bringing in Brady Quinn. You used the 22nd pick on him, you might as well. They were outgained, 169 yards to the Ravens 273 yards. When you are getting outgained by the Ravens, you know things are bad. Browns run game is terrible, their passing game is shaky, as Edwards is turning out to be a huge disapointment. Sure, Stallworth hasn't played yet, but I dont believe he makes this team a contender. They need some serious adjustments.

Jags Colts-Jags needed this win, and got it, even if it was with a game winning FG. Scobey comes through with the big boot to keep this team from going 0-3. Their running game is getting on track, with both RB's having over 100 yards. Garrard was effective as usual, but the Colts just dont seem like the same team as they were in the last few years. Peyton still seems hurt, and may turn out to be one of the biggest disapointments in the AFC.

Eagles Steelers-This was a typical grind it out PA battle. The Eagles rushed Big Ben over and over, giving that offense problems. Westbrook got injuried and left, while Mcnabb left but came back. Eagles showed that they can win the big game, while their defense really showed up. They held the Steelers to 180 total yards, while Willie Parker had 20 rushes on 13 carries. With Willie out next week against the Ravens, Mendenhall will get to show his stuff on the big show Monday Night.

Cowboys Packers-The Cowboys just love scoring, even if its not TO. TO didnt do much this game, but he still helped out alot, making key blocks, and drawing defenders away to leave others open. Barber is turning out to be one of the best Rb's in the league, with 142 yards on the ground, and another 37 through the air. This team is the best in the NFC, while the Packers are not far behind. Rodgers had another great week, as the name Favre is slowly fading in Green Bay.

Jets Chargers-Brett Favre loves the big stage, but this game is one that the Chargers really needed. Starting off 0-3, no matter what your offense is like, is just heartbreaking to a team. Cromartie showed why he made the Pro Bowl last year, with another INT for a TD. This team could be the best 1-2 team in the league, with those two losses coming in the last 2 minutes of the game. Rivers is starting off his season with great numbers, while LT finally got his first 2 tds...the first of many.
